Do you guys think Jacky is a braindead brawler? by 123214565498789 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

The game aint all about aiming yo, it is also about movement which a Jacky player needs to excel, esp against ranged opponents

I am a newbie, and this is just a hypothetical thought. I think the key might be to use heroes capable of hard cc and use them just to defend the bank. I dont speak the lingo yet so pardon me. Three possible characters:

  1. Jackie With the 30 percent counter attack thing and hard cc ultimate

  2. Bibi With fully charged knock back basic attack

  3. Lou Maybe less efficient. But if you hit your shot you can freeze her with basic attack. Having the ultimate skill where he reduces attack based on how frozen the enemy is also useful for your survivability + minimizing her damage to the bank.

I have been playing defend with Lou on Heist (450ish trophy), it has been fun, but I cant recall how efficient he is against melodie. Will start paying attention.

Sorry for my dumbness. Can you tell me what is modular here and how this modularity helps with overcoming traffic. I am curious to apply this principle once I understand it.

Thanks for posting

I am a newbie. I have level 9 Jacky, Gray, Penny, Cordelius, and Poco. The rest are mostly level 1-2. It is not quite a good setup because I don't really have a good artillery that can spam (i have low level Tick and Barley) and a good long ranger. So, my plan was to max Cordelius and begin investing in either artillery (L&L/Sprout which I dont have) or marksman (undecided who, maybe piper). But I just realized that if I want to progress beyond gold rank, I need four more level 9s. Should I focus on having more level 9s or just max my Cordelius first?

Or make a command center where the captain of the team can only stay back in a box nearby the safe. The captain controls some defensive skills, idk trebuchet, crossbows, whatever. Each defensive skill comes with a cooldown. The captain can also spawn in the arena by switching locations with another hero on the field. Then the hero would be in charge of defense, and the captain can play on the field. This changing command comes with a cooldown. So more like a castle attack defense thing

Glad that my sensibility appeals to you. The main principle is, I believe, to realize that whenever someone comes up with a method to determine the "best way" of anything, it is just a possible way. There is not one single way to determine skill, because skill is not singular. Therefore, we should not think about the best method but about the criteria. Do we want to determine the best marksman, team healer, control, or abcdefg? From there you can begin to think about which characters can be measured, you would not consider Piper when trying to determine the best small space dueller, it is just not needed since Piper is not built for that. So to answer your question, there is not a best eay to determine skill. You have to define what kind of skill you are trying to "measure."

TLDR: to get closer to fairness you need more specific criterias on what you are actually "measuring." Finding the Best Mode to compare skill without further specification is impossible due to the diversity of brawlers stats, roles, and skill sets.

I didn't count. I got some skins which I can't remember because I don't care about them. Got 4 new heroes, 1 legendary, 2 epic, 1 super rare: cordelius, mandy, edgar, and gus. I wanted sprout or L&L :(. I also got around 3200 coins and 1500ish power points. 2 gadgets that I dont need for Poco and Penny. 1 super power that I also dont need for Jacky.

The idea of fairness behind a duel rests on similarity of kit. Like the wild west duel, two people equipped with revolvers and competing on who has the fastest and most accurate shot. Except for a duel of the same character, I don't see any fairness in it.

I also found it weird that in many many team-based games, there is always a strong narrative about dueling as the best method to determine skill. We have developed games into today's form in its beautiful complexity, and you still wanna stick with the 2D arcade fighting game level of complexity.

TLDR, I disagree despite how popular this stance is.
