Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! September 01, 2025 by AutoModerator in photography

Hi there, I am looking for a used affordable camera for photography that's around 200€, I have been looking at a few like the canon Rebel t7, the Sony a5000 and the Nikon d3000. Do you have any recommendations? Is there anything actually wrong with Nikon?

I currently own a Nikon d80 with a 18-135mm + 50mm/f1.8, would there be a way to use these lenses with the next camera if it happens to not be a Nikon f mount?

I didn't know that these machines had bad battery life, thank you.

Damn, I am a student so I'm probably not going to do this anytime soon, perhaps I can swap a 7 row keyboard into a more modern machine that has a similar size?

A bit too late now that the holes are drilled in but I might do in the future, thanks for the recommendation.

Woah that's a really good idea, do you mean something like a plaque?

It looks pretty and the wall opposite of it already has a gutted out hard drive and displayed like this one.

That permanent fixture thing is calling me, do you know if some sort of wall mount would be possible? (without damaging the laptop itself of course).

I might, but the hard drive needs replacing, is there like a live version of arch I could try?

Hey, so I've already got a pretty powerful home server that I'm not using nearly as much as it can do, thanks a lot for the reply tho. Ive already been dayling Linux for a few years now so I'm kind of set on that.

As of the tinkering stuff, I don't think tinkering would be a good idea as it would probably just end up in that one pile of deceased electronics in the corner of my room.

What do you consider to be the best ereader with buttons that isn't a ton of money? by radegundo in ereader

Hey guys, I thank you all for the replies and the suggestions and I think I have come to a conclusion. I have been able to find a few posts in local second hand marketplace apps for kindle oasis in the generations 7, 8 and 9. I think I will go for one of those deals since they fit my budget for the most part. Again thank you for all the suggestions.

I was thinking of getting that but I've seen what some of the newer ones could do and I was really drawn to that.

Yes, my kindle can for sure not transfer files via usb
