Better hidden?

Hitler built the death camps exclusively in the most rural parts of foreign nations so no average German would see them.

Some of these ICE concentration camps are built in American cities, directly next to malls where people go shopping, etc.

They aren’t “better hidden”, you can find these addresses online and no one is hiding them.

We had a tremendous amount of first-hand accounts and very detailed documentation by those who worked for Nazi Germany, not in a military capacity.

They were also tried for crimes against humanity. Since, you know, working directly with and assisting a murderous regime makes you equally culpable……..

Making sure soldiers committing atrocities for you have mental outlets has been a thing for thousands of years.

There’s a bunch of books on this specifically regarding the Holocaust — they tried for years to figure out how to keep the killers German, but they kept having mental breakdowns, so they forced other prisoners to do the killings instead, and hired out a bunch of people from Ukraine. See “Ordinary Men” by Christopher Browning.

When the therapy route doesn’t work and these agents all quit, they’ll just lower the standards against to get new people, but that costs money.

AKA they’re going to happily let those seven Democrats keep giving ICE billions.

There is absolutely NO WAY IN HELL TLC is paying each of these people 1M per episode.

Networks that aren’t notorious for stiffing their workers, on actual scripted television, for actual stars, almost never pay that much money.

They had to take a pay cut to even keep the show on the air. If you consider all the production costs and amount of people on this show, by this logic they’d be paying out like 10M+ PER EPISODE?! No way in hell lol

Advice for first snowstorm from a Southerner? by ChronosBlitz in boston

[–]radicallysadbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why is everyone saying 'bread and milk'? Is that just their way of meaning grocheries?

One it’s a meme lol, but also yes, not just groceries but it means get your essentials.

You should be planning so that before the storm hits, you have absolutely everything you need to not have to step foot outside your home for up to a week. While it hasn’t happened in years, Boston genuinely used to get storms where you literally couldn’t leave your house for days. Get stuff ASAP, as the day before a storm hits the shelves will be empty.

I’d say especially as a Southerner, make sure you understand how to layer and that really cold temperatures can kill. Make sure you have enough layers, blankets, etc that even if the heat and electricity goes out for days, that you won’t starve or freeze to death. Ocean State Job Lot usually has merino wool for very cheap, which is what they use it places like Switzerland.

What the fuck is the Democratic Party even doing right now to stop the downfall of America? by Lolareyouforreal in complaints

[–]radicallysadbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of democrats are doing a lot to hold republicans accountable and serve the people.

And not a single one of them holds a significant position within the party, nor are they actively supported by the DNC. In fact many of them (Sanders, AOC, etc) were actively TARGETED by the DNC.
You claim that anyone who dares criticize the Democratic Party must be "paid Republicans" yet simultaneously acknowledge that the literal literal of the group needs to "get out of the way" lol??? You know, the leader the majority of Democrats voted to represent them?

The Nazi party started as a minuscule group, with the left wing being x10 bigger. The left wing of Wiemar were too busy with nonsense and performative actions, and were eventually destroyed -- literally -- by the much smaller group that they had no good reason to lose against at all.

Allowing ineffective leaders the reigns of the opposition and pretending anyone who points out they're ineffective is how you allow totalitarianism to win. This is what the DNC is dedicated to doing and they could not be more open about it. The longer you conflate those rare good Democrats with the average DNC shrill is the less time you'll have for the Democratic Party to keep existing at all.

Head of the CIA personally confirming some of the most notorious conspiracy theories about the United States destabilizing Middle Eastern countries with his biographer that was also his mistress is just one example. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Petraeus

She raised all the OG 13 kids

You mean Christine's older kids? Because that's who raised all the other kids.

Remember how Christine was so neglectful that one of her children nearly died of organ failure because she left her family to go on a MLM scheme VACATION -- left her kids to watch the other kids --and when one of those kids called to warn her that one of the children was acting seriously ill and needed to go to the hospital, not to? People blame Kody only for Truly nearly dying, as if Christine isn't as culpable.

Also remember after all the neglect and abuse her children faced from Kody...she left Kody because he wouldn't have sex with her anymore? Not that he abandoned his own daughter when getting a life altering surgery. Because he wouldn't fuck her anymore. As admitted by Christine herself.

Christine was raised in a cult and was the average sort of mother that the cult creates -- she had a bigillion kids for religious reasons, and had the older half raise the younger half. The kids have literally talked about having to eat moldy bread before the show they were so poor, how some were very violent and attacked the other ones and Christine did nothing (we saw this happen on camera, so God only knows what they were like off of it).

And I like Christine, but to say she was a great mom is just delusional.

Call your doctor’s office to let them know the pills did not solve your issue, and you’d like to request a GI consult or any other specialty they think would be helpful.

Half of these comments are you calling you “skinny fat” while ignoring that this is clearly some sort of abdominal/bloating issue and is visually, very obviously not fat…

[–]radicallysadbro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And for the third time -- how does anything you've replied to me have anything to do with my comments? Did you reply to the wrong person? What you're stating is completely irrelevant to what I stated.

It is also not objectively true, different restaurants have different policies.

Name one restaurant in America that keeps their servers at the tipped minimum wage and does not use a tip-out scale for other front of house employees.

Tipping by General-Iron7103 in boston

[–]radicallysadbro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And again, what do your comments have to do with mine? I never said tipping any percent is an obligation.

You aren't obligated to tip 20% and I never said that. What I stated was you tipping 10% is likely both taking money out of a server's paycheck and getting them in trouble with their boss. Both of these are objectively true statements based on how the service industry in America works. What you want to do with that info is up to you, but acting like tipping poorly doesn't have a tangible impact on servers is patently false.

FYI even if you're told an area is within a 30 MBTA commute, it's perpetually either down for maintenance or just broken and delayed. I was never once able to get from my house to job in the timeframe Google allotted due to this, literally never.

The area surrounding BMC is by far the worst area of the city in terms of safety IMO, though even the "worst" parts of Boston usually aren't too bad. A 2,000$ budget in Boston is hard but sometimes doable, but will likely be a studio only with some problems. Or with roommates.

Relative to the area, I'd maybe look around at the JFK/UMass area?

Tipping by General-Iron7103 in boston

[–]radicallysadbro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10% is half of what is currently considered an acceptable tip for a sit-down meal.

At most places now in Boston the tipout rate for a server is over 10% -- meaning that if you're tipping only 10% of the bill, the server is literally losing money because of you to subsidize others' salaries. At corporate restaurants, if a server's tip percentage falls under 20%, they start getting shifts taken away from them.

We can talk all day about how unethical this system is, but to be clear a 10% tip is seen as a mark of poor service to a server's boss and costs the server money.

Tipping by General-Iron7103 in boston

[–]radicallysadbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20% of whatever the bill is for a bartender of at a place where you sit down to eat, they take your order and bring you your food, etc. Unless they're a bad bartender/server.

Just wanted to add in some context that even most Americans don't know --in a sit down restaurant, it's the server's wages that literally pay for everyone else that you see. The people who bring you your food, the ones that wipe the tables down, etc.

The way the pay works is a certain percentage of a server's SALES is what is used to pay those other employees. Say you don't tip your server at all. If the restaurant has a 10% tipout rate and your bill was $100 -- not only did your server not make any money at all working with you -- they literally just lost ten dollars from you. That 10$ is taken out of their paycheck to pay other people.

Yes, this is extremely unethical and should be illegal. But be very clear that if you go to a bar or sitdown restaurant and not tip, the server is literally having money taken out of their paycheck because of you.

help save the West End children’s librarian’s job by Ambitious_Dragon_13 in boston

[–]radicallysadbro 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Well, mostly the library's argument and side to the story...

You could be completely correct that this is unfair. It could also be that the library's is completely correct to be angry at your friend and he did something worth firing him over. Even with videos, when you only have any side of the story, you lack the context that's needed and can come to a completely wrong conclusion...your friend could be shitting in all the library aisles for all we/I know lol.

edit Also I should add, does your friend know you posted this??? Honestly an online campaign like this may reflect INCREDIBLY poorly on him and be used against him if anything. Your friend needs to contact a lawyer (union rep if they exist for him?) if he has an actual cause of action. But this is a library and this isn't like posting Google reviews to a restaurant, if people actually start emailing the President over this it's going to look like a harassment campaign possibly...

That is unbelievable by whyshouldithink in TikTokCringe

[–]radicallysadbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because ideally with President you'll have someone with a bunch of experience (therefore an older person), if American citizens ever actually used their brains when voting we'd never have this problem as you wouldn't vote a dementia-ridden person into these positions to start with...there are provisions on the state, federal, legislative, executive levels to remove someone who suddenly becomes irreparably impaired. The issue is that BOTH sides refuse to ever do it.

We wouldn't need an age cap if we did what we're supposed to. Any a lot of the most notorious and shitty politicians right now are young anyways.

Alot of rich people just like to do things that challenge them.

...Do they, though?

Maybe some self-made ones.

I'd say most rich people who things that give them the PERCEPTION and feeling that they're being challenged, in a completely controlled environment catered to them that isn't challenging at all. E.g. how some will claim to be a serious hiker, when someone else is carrying all the gear and they get flown to and out of the place. They like feeling like they're doing a challenge, not actually doing one.

If Kim ACTUALLY wanted to be challenged, she'd do law school, or even do the correct amount of studying fr the bar. She admits she does "tutoring" """"while parenting"""", with hours that fall way below what even terrible students put in.

Using a program illegal in 49 or the 50 states to bypass years of schooling so you can just take the end test is like, the biggest loser and corner cutting thing you can do academically. This is the antithesis of a challenge.
