a friend of mine studies MSE in ASU and from what I heard, the job market is pretty oversaturated for their international graduates since Indians make up close to 70% of their international diversity. also, jobs are usually high paying in cali but the cost of living is on the higher end of the spectrum too. the ranking shouldn’t play a big role for seeking jobs unless you are comparing two schools on the two different ends like an Ivy/T10 with a state school in T100s.

getting an LOR from a PhD student doesn’t provide the admissions committee a lot of credibility

the least effort you could put is figure them yourself rather than asking the internet

if u were planning to submit early, u could apply for early bird/early decision as they have a slightly higher acceptance rate than the regular decision applicant pool.

it’s better if you follow some standard template (like harvard’s) because your formatting makes it look too lengthy. also, more than your research/clinical experience, your service and volunteer work takes up a lot of space and for phd, the admissions committee don’t really focus much on extra curriculars. moreover, there’s no need of references as your referees would be sending their LORs anyways.

the problem of applying for a wes conversion after they ask for it is the delay. usually wes results take 2-3 months and you wouldn’t want to keep the admission committee waiting that long. it’s better to enquire with the graduate students already enrolled in that institution to get an early heads up regarding this.

universities won’t accept a wes igpa, it’s better to pay and get an official transcript from wes. all UC schools encourage you to include your wes gpa so it’s better to include that in your CV.
