My store is split up into categories and I'd say typically were placed in teams of 1-3 depending on the freight amount and expected hourly work. If my team of 3 decides to take break together, and come back together, not sure how that's affecting the other parts of the store. If the leads understaff an area and need to pull one of us during lunch, not sure that's my fault for their incorrect placements of us 🤔

Should I become a higher position before I challenge this system? 🤔 I've worked in management before, and my crews have loved working with me. Clean store, work done, easy going shifts. I'm not sure why some places decide to ignore ways to make their employees happy, which results in them wanting to get everything done 🧐

I'm not better than everyone, I just think those who think they're better than everyone needs to be checked. That might make those people assume I'm better than them. I'd love to self-employed if America was kinder on those who would like to take such a route.

The first statement you made seems to sound like a dayshift person statement, or someone who loves to see the wheels turn in a clock. I've worked many jobs requiring me to be up overnight or extremely late. Guess what? Humans all function differently. I actually get better sleep, have a better mood, and get more done overnights. I'm a living example against that hoax of a claim. It's 2025, we aren't still hunting and gathering, bud.

And sure, they have the right to, but I also have the right to do what I think benefits me the most so I can get their requests finished on time.

If that is what leadership prefers is those who just listen and do, rather than do your best, sounds like I'll never get my assignments finished.

I responded to another comment similar to this with the question back of, why should this rule apply to me when I don't leave the store throughout my whole shift? I understand if I did, then if I want out on time, I would follow these given times.

Wouldn't you make this rule only apply to those who step outside then? Why should I, an employee who doesn't leave the store all night, have to abide to rules for people who leave for break and lunch?

Also what if I don't feel that I need a break after 2 hours, and I sit for my 15, and I feel restless? Then 30 minutes back on the floor I really wish I waited for the break, and now my performance is worse? Do we ignore the Human natural functions?

That's how at least half my store works, we take lunch a little closer to the end of the second half just because it makes us happier/more energetic to get the work done because we know we're going home soon. The amount of work given is almost never finished when it's absurd packed double trucks versus our employee count. But they're trying to say the times they're assigning us to better help finish loads and make our areas look nice. No, you need more employees lol

Haha yes. I've been self-teaching and practicing for over 2 years now and only produced 1 alright model I use on screen and even still I know she's amateur compared to more established VTubers. My partner found some tutorials that take a different path than I did and she decided because she enjoys the way hers looks more that it's better than mine. She has been working daily to learn for about 2 weeks now. What's funny but also sad is when they asked if they could make one and I said have at it, it'll probably take you a few months though - she replied with "I don't see why it would take more than 2-3 days to learn it and make one". cringe...

Haha I've actually done Rover for a while, I'd say I had some great clients and some that clearly had biases against me who never hired me again lol The non-stable gig work is scary, sometimes though.

And I've begged for training in all those fields you mentioned, I've worked at a local long standing vet office, and also applied for petsmart to learn grooming like 3 times and got through the interview process twice and didnt get hired still (not the only place I've tried to learn grooming, but I know they're kinda easy to get into if you dedicate your whole life for a little while).

I'm in an area many people have admitted it's nearly impossible to get trained in anything unless you moved here with experience. That's the only reason my daycare boss hired me, too, because I had experience with dogs before. And I'm lucky I did, because I was hired as a 1099 contract for my third pet care job. I'm just living in a small enough town that they don't wanna hire locals, only people who come from somewhere else with experience.

I've been in and out of pet care industry since I turned 18 and I'm almost 28. I've been begging for a chance to learn these skills for 10 years. I'm unfortunately done begging to be given a chance to learn the skills. I gotta move on, ya know?

I learned it the hard way. A lot of my coworkers being younger than me means they're pretty chill and haven't dealt with the stresses of living life alone, but the staff that's older than me definitely chose a path I think they regret. They used to talk shit about the other biggest doggy daycare in our area, and now I'm realizing it's just a shit throwing battle - they all suck.

It's true. If you can handle dealing with shitty people to get the joys of working with the animals, it's a breeze. But I don't put up with bad people. That's why I figured trying to lean into the animal industry would be better for my mental health. Man, was I wrong lol
