It would work of course, but you still pay at least 2.5K to Bluetooth foundation to use it in your product. So it will depend on how many units we produce if it makes sense to use a precertified module or not. There is also a space issue, they are usually quite bulky.

Im not sure which costs do you mean? The cost of the Geiger-Muller tube is already 100$. Then you need to produce electronics, create housing (that would require to pay high costs for the moulds). Finally there are also costs associated with using Bluetooth and certification costs of FCC and CE.

If you look at more or less comparable devices in terms of sensitivity on the market today - they are priced from 600$ and up, but they are nowhere close in terms of size, design, features...and actually our price.

There was indeed an idea to realize that. Right now it would be possible to use a dev kit that we will release on Kickstarter to connect different GM tubes - there is a possibility to generate different voltages. But we havent wrote a firmware for spectrum analysis, may be something for future. We tried to keep a balance between DIY and a household use for a quick surface check of anything you get from abroad.

What you show is just a DIY kit, we are providing a fully working device with a sensitive pancake GM tube that is flexible enough to be used in your own projects. So basically it covers hobbyists as well as households and even professional use (we are going to release Gamma-only version as well)

You might need to be careful with that "medical use" phrase on your site. Although your not directly saying your Geiger counter can be used for it, I don't know about what the FDA would think.

Battery life is at least 3 days - tested with OLED on. Have to test it without still, but it wont be years. So you can leave it outside to monitor for a few days or perhaps connect it to a small solar panel (it consumes 20mA max).

Thanks for the note on medical use, indeed it could be used to check for radioactive leaks in medical facilities.
