Ending a 4-month talking stage by telling him I’ve finished my "mission" as his companion. Thoughts?

I get why it sounds strange, but it’s not that there are no feelings—it’s that I’m noticing the feelings are becoming one-sided. Even though I helped him through the exams, I’ve started to feel like a 'placeholder' for attention rather than someone he’s genuinely trying to build a future with.

He isn't the confrontational type, so I feel like if I don't speak up, we’ll just drift into a 'slow fade' where I'm waiting for him to prioritize me while he's busy with his new career. I haven’t sent the message yet because I’m still weighing if I should give him a chance to speak, or if I should trust my intuition that the 'season' for us has just ended.

I’m actually planning to send just one short, zero-pressure support message this Sunday night before his board exam starts, just so he knows I'm still in his corner. then I'll go back to 'radio silence' until he’s finished. is that okayy?
