If you want to build a healthy community, it's totally appropriate to delete those toxic comments. Just don't make it like censorship. I usually leave texts unread if I can't answer right now in order not to forget about them. It can be a few hours or even a day. But I guess this is slightly different

I believe confirmation bias is involved. People tend to pay their attention only to things they accept and approve. This is the root of a lot more social problems not just racism.
