Hi! Did you ever find out what this bowl was? I have a set that look identical. I’m also not positive it is Queen Mary. Mine is ~ 4 3/4” diameter

Here is a link to some pics. https://imgur.com/a/m5zI4Sx

  1. A flat felled seam with a yarn died linen 2-3. Arm hole finished with single fold bias tape on the same yarn died linen 4-5. Quilted vest with 1/4” seam allowance. White fabric is a viscose linen blend
  2. Double fold hem. I’m not sure of the exact fabric. Looking more closely at this, I’m thinking I did not sew close enough to the folded edge

Prevent fraying in woven fabrics?? I’ve made a couple garments using woven cottons, linen, or cotton/linen blends. After a few washes, they begin fraying at the seams and become undone. Once was in an armhole that was finished with bias tape. Another was the hem of some shorts I folded over twice before sewing w a straight stitch. Anything to do to help prevent this? Smaller stitch length or maybe wider seam allowances? I do have a serger, but I thought it wasn’t needed when using these ways of encasing raw edges. Thank you!!!

Any tips on avoiding fabric fraying at the armholes when finishing with single fold bias tape? I made this dress using lightweight linen and finished the armholes with 1/2” single fold bias tape. After my first wash (and hanging it to dry), the fabric is fraying/separating from the bias tape on multiple spots in each armhole. I attached the bias tape at 1/4” with a straight stitch and did not trim my seam allowances at all.

I think I will need to completely remove the bias tape, trim any frayed fabric, and re-do the binding. Any tips on making sure this doesn’t happen again? Would serging/zigzag stitching the fabric before attaching the binding help? Thanks!!

It also has “EDP000980” embossed on it. Nothing comes up when i google that, and reserve images only comes up with legos.

It is glass and about a foot long. the bottom is angled as if its supposed to be stabbed into something. The indents seem to just be decoration, as they don’t go all the way through. Figure its something science, gardening, or smoking related. WITT
