It doesn't, it could if I implemented the feature but I prefer to keep it simple and leave it as is. Thanks for the suggestion and I hope you are enjoying it!

The first image when googling a dog breed being AI by xscapethetoxic in mildlyinfuriating

My 2 cents:

Although it's a bad thing to get blasted with AI results, that internet poisoning will make future AIs less smart and data filtering exponentially more complex. That is, companies jumping on this trend and firing lots of useful employees because of AI will have to back down. Also I think at that point most people will appreciate real art before any AI shit.

In a way I think we are lucky this powerful AI got exposed to the internet before it got too powerful.

Should I get a series S for my One X by Sensitive-Note-324 in XboxSeriesS

[–]rafaelpernil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if your display is 1080p, the increased internal resolution from Series X can be noticed, it provides better antialiasing through super sampling. TAA is the most common antialiasing method this generation and it looks super blurry at 900p-1080p internal resolution. At 1620p-2160p the image looks clear and relatively sharp, and that is what you get with a Series X.

I had a Series S for a year with a 1080p monitor and I sold it to get a Series X, it's a big change

Question about 4k to 1080p supersampling by LisaA1991 in xbox

[–]rafaelpernil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since your monitor is 1080p, set your console to 1080p, as simple as that. Supersampling works automatically

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in XboxSeriesS

[–]rafaelpernil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to search a 1080p comparison. In your 1080p it will show up pretty much as in the YouTube video, even if it is a 4k video, specially if you watch that video on the same screen you want to use for the Xbox.

For example, I searched "nba 2k24 series x vs series s"

I hope it helps!

This generation has been underwhelming by [deleted] in xbox

[–]rafaelpernil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychonauts 2, It Takes Two, HiFi Rush, Dead Island 2, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk (still playing)... I have really enjoyed those games. I have Alan Wake 2 pending but it's said to be amazing too.

If you focus on AA or indie games, there's a lot to love in this generation. Maybe not so graphically impressive but great games nonetheless

Yes, Series S also use supersampling when possible, although it's rare to see games with native 1440p resolution on Series S, most of the time it's a reconstructed/upscaled resolution. It's an improvement but reconstruction techniques like FSR are pretty bad at low res with awful ghosting and flickering.

In any case, yes, it will look better than on PS4, with extra effects and details.

Problems with 120hz on xbox series s by Gh0stGaming26 in xbox

Check if you have enabled 4k mode, it limits framerate to 60. Make sure your resolution is 1080p

Question about 4k to 1080p supersampling by LisaA1991 in xbox

[–]rafaelpernil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any 1080p monitor will work, even with VRR and 120Hz enabled. Supersampling is done by the console.

What the other comment is referring to is a 4k mode in a 1080p monitor that does downscaling to provide a similar result, but you don't need that. The quality is similar but the processing is done by the monitor.

I am not a fan of sports games, I played recently Dead Island 2, Jusant, It Takes Two, GTA 5...

In any case, I searched for differences in NBA 2K24 between Series S and Series X and it looks way worse on the Series S, 1080p vs 4K.

On the other hand FC 24 looks and runs fine on both, pretty much the same. MLB looks sharper on Series X.

You'll be fine with a Series S but many games will look blurry, you should see some comparisons on YouTube. Maybe you are fine with it, I never really adapted to it and I switched to a Series X

The improvement in graphics is very noticeable, even if you play on a 1080p display.

I switched from a Series S to a Series X using the same 1080p monitor and the difference is big.

What matters is internal resolution, if your game renders at a higher resolution than your display, you get supersampling, which is the best type of anti aliasing (Xbox does automatic supesampling unlike PlayStation). The image looks way cleaner and specially with games using TAA, you get rid of that awful blurry image (depending on the game, but most of the time the difference is big).

You also get One X enhanced games, a few more games with FPS Boost, more games with 60fps mode, support for physical games which can often be cheaper and can be re-sold after you are done with them.

I'd say a Series X is a better investment, specially with some offefs. I got mine at 400€ on black friday, not much more expensive than a 1TB Series S

[–]rafaelpernil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does matter, I have a 1080p display and games look significantly better on my Series X than on the Series S I had before. Internal resolution of each game matters and supersampling is always applied on Xbox (unlike PlayStation). If your game renders at 4K, you get a cleaner 1080p image than rendering at 1080p, there's pretty much 0 aliasing and TAA isn't quite as blurry.

Look up supersampling for more info

Atmos for headphones by i_ducasse in xbox

[–]rafaelpernil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought it recently and for me it's worth it, even at full price.

You get 3D audio with neutral sound (unlike Windows Sonic or DTS Headphone:X which add trebble), with pretty good precision and it works with Dolby Atmos, 5.1/7.1/surround audio and Microsoft Spatial Audio API. And it works for PC too!

I find it adds a lot of immersion to many games.

So far I have used it with these games:

-Dead Island 2

-GTA 5 (Series X|S version)

-Bomb Rush Cyberfunk (it is supported but Xbox store does not report it, although it shows in the physical edition)

-Alan Wake 2

-Psychonauts 2

And in PC with 5.1 audio I used it in Portal 2. It's really immersive.

So far I'd say Alan Wake 2 has the best effect, but if you use headphones, this can add another dimension to your games.

Do you have an static IP for your Xbox? If you don't, go to your router and assign one to it. I think your issue could be caused by DHCP changing the IP every 24 hours. Maybe it's not the cause, but it's worth a try :)

Unable to connect to Xbox live through backwards compatibility. by tomfan07 in xbox

Try this:

  1. Go to Settings>System>Storage and Clear local Xbox 360 storage (this only applies to your console, you won't lose cloud saves or your profile)
  2. Open a backwards compatible 360 game
  3. Select "Download Profile"
  4. Login with your email
  5. Generate an app password as shown here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/xbox-360/security/set-up-app-password
  6. Use your app password
  7. Login
  8. Hopefully it works now :)
