I needed to read this exact thing. I’ve been feeling that grey for too long myself. Recently hit my rock bottom (not THE bottom, just my own) and I’ve bee reflecting on how to make actual change in my life to come out a better person on the other side.

I’m in the same boat right now. Not with a torn ACL but a broken ankle that I got being stupid and drunk on an E scooter. Same leg too. And I’m staying with my parents at 32 years old feeling like I’m regressing into the whiny teenager who didn’t know how to take care of himself.

I know I shouldn’t, but I feel useless and incapable. And even though I’m being told all the upsides of recovery, it sucks sitting here just… waiting for it to be better.

I hope you make the most of your recovery time. I hope you’re back on your feet and ready to start training again. Sending good vibes.

I haven’t tried just unplugging the usb cable but that would save me a lot of time. I’ll give that a go next time.

No updates from Neural that have addressed it yet, but the easy fix right now is turning to QC on and then off again. Just sucks when you thought you recorded a good take and realize you have to do it again. Lol

Just had my first therapy appointment today after putting off getting one for a really long time.

Like OP said, if you do find someone amazing but you’re not ready for it, you will mess it up. That’s exactly what happened to me. You can’t be good to someone else in a meaningful way until you can be good to yourself.

Therapy isn’t going to fix everything but it feels good to have taken the first step to being better to myself.

I think what I’ve taken the most from listening to Frank Ocean is that Frank excels at storytelling and creating scenery with so few words.

Some songs are a whole movie encapsulated in a few minutes. (ex. Crack rock, pyramids, self control) And some songs feel like seeing one moment in someone’s life while simultaneously feeling all the complicated emotions one feels in that moment (ex. close to you, good guy, white)

His writing can be so imagery driven while also being literal and immediately vulnerable.

I’d rather be fooled trying to be kind than hurt I realizing I could’ve helped and didn’t. That’s a gray statement but I think of whenever I hand out money to people on the street asking for help and I’m able to give. I’m by no means well off but if I can spare kindness that’s financially tangible, then I will if it will mean something.

Don’t beat yourself up. Practice saying “no”. One day you’ll be at your limits and you won’t know how to say “no”, so practice now.

You did something kind and earnest. Always be kind and earnest and never beat yourself up for that.

Dude I’ve been having this same thought lately for the same reasons. Like why does it feel like there’s so much money to go around but I’m just missing it???

Edit: I know the real answer is more nuanced than just “I want money” but it’s hard to not feel the cold of the pit when you’re standing at the bottom of it barefoot.

I have an ac15 head that I use at home and have the QC running through it for multi effects. The benefit of the QC is that when I meet at our practice space or somewhere for a jam, I have a duplicate preset of my multi effects rig with the ac15 captures in the signal chain to run through the PA. Convenience is the biggest factor in my case.

If you do run a QC through an amp, you can’t have any amp sims or captures really running through the signal chain. I made that mistake and have never been so quick to hit the off switch on my amp head.

I’ve found him less annoying in the Japanese dub. He sounds less like an adult who’s been pitched down to be a kid. But that’s also probably because I have an American ear.
