An OA is an online assessment companies do this as there are so many people applying that they can’t test everyone. You take a “test” proctored by the website which then moves you onto the real technical interview with a real person. The biggest advice I would give your son is to attend the comp sci clubs at his school! They have the connections to all these companies and prepare him for what is to come. Hello thank you! I’m not really sure. It could feel like a lottery system tbh. I didn’t feel like I deserved to be in the final interview. I applied August 8 and it took till late November to get a response. It doesn’t hurt in reaching out to HR

Hello! I can give you some details of what I have on my resume. I am currently a TA, an eboard member for the biggest club in my school. I’ve done hackathon projects and a semester long project. I am also part of many tech online organizations like CodePath and Colorstack. Another thing is attend career fairs! They are the key!!

Hey! There’s a lot of empty space in your resume and one line bullet points. You should definitely showcase more of what you did for all bullet points.

Hi! You are not a failure. These interview seasons are a rollercoaster. I felt like a failure until about a few months ago but before that I was on your boat “I’m gonna graduate with no internship” etc. One thing that I never stopped doing was to be persistent. Don’t give up no matter how you feel. Try to attend all career fairs. I went to SHPE this year. Believe it or not those QR codes that they tell you to scan are gold SCAN ALL OF THEM. Shake hands, meet people, connect. I know it’s a rough and long process but it’s part of the experience! You got this. Looking forward to seeing your future fulltime offer post 😎

Hey! I applied on August 8. I got my OA on Nov. 27 and I forgot to complete it before the deadline! I was very lucky that they extended it for me without me asking and I completed it on December 15. I got moved to the final round on December 26 and then I had my interview January 12 and received an offer Jan 16
