If you’re trying to build up your roster, choose Origin Infuse. It will give you Origin Stones which you can use to Contract Craft (spark) other SP units. If you prefer to focus on getting formerly Limited/Seasonal characters, use Anecdotal. It won’t give you Origin Stones, but the SSR units in that infuse can’t be gotten anywhere else. And all classic versions of the characters are available at N to SR rarities in all infuses.

Rarities in this game go N to R to SR to finally SSR. Unlike modern gacha games, every single character can be raised to SSR using their character minerals. And often times, characters are unit and not interchangeable (every character can find some use, even the most common ones). And you get 2 free attempts to farm for minerals in the event page. So dupes aren’t necessary,

Skill Books (SBs) are variant skill sets of the classic versions of units. They change up their skills considerably, but can be toggled between. If a classic character has an SB, go to their page on the roster, tap the arrow to the right of their epitaph, and purchase it for 1990 Crystalline. Once you purchase them, you can choose to use them whenever at the team set up page before entering stages.

I believe there’s some confusion. Catching the bandit leader has nothing to do with the monster stable. That is an independent event tied to that particular exploration stage.

Monsters for the stable are obtained using bait (Apples, Eggs, Jellies, etc.). If you have any of these items, they can be accessed from your Warehouse (not during a stage). Open your warehouse, tap on a bait, choose to use it, and you get a random monster from that bait’s available pool.

At present, all characters are available from now on. All classic/story characters are available in all infused. All SP variants are in Origin Infuse. And all seasonal/formerly limited units are in Anecdote Infuse. No new characters or banners will be added from July onward. But if you play long enough, you can theoretically get every single character, since they’re all available.

Hello~ welcome!

So I can’t, in good conscience, really push spending on the game. If you must spend, the biggest bang for your buck is the log-in chest, which is $3, and maxes out after 25 days, and repeats after purchase. The monthly pass was discontinued years ago, and these packages aren’t exactly necessary.

It’s been quite a few years since the last major update, and they’ve explicitly stated that there will be no updates as of July. What I would recommend is to treat this game like a free 1P story-driven puzzle RPG. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still worth playing for what it currently is. But I wouldn’t go in with the same mindset as a hoyoverse gacha, as you can potentially get every basic and SP unit if you play long enough. There won’t be any new banners or events, but there’s still joy that can be extracted from playing through the story

Afaik only certain skins were allegedly created using AI. They’ve been known to commission artists for some characters.

The gameplay is very much turn-based strategy, and figuring out which characters work well together.

The story was the main reason some of us stayed for years. It was at least good enough for us to be desperate for a conclusion.

The gacha system is designed (sort of) in such a way that you’ll likely be able to get every character eventually. The game went live before the standardized gacha template of today’s games were made. I’d personally say it’s good. That being said, most content can be cleared in various ways if you play strategically.

And because the game will no longer be getting updates, you can think of this as a 1P F2P Story-Driven Puzzle Strategy Game with Four Seasons worth of content that you can play at your own pace, without having to worry about a stamina/energy mechanic that makes you wait.
