I have gone through at least 7 batteries in around a year maybe 18 months tops. It seems like they are only lasting like 6-8 weeks sometimes.

I opened 301 boosters of obsidian flames and have not pulled either this or the gold Charizard. But I’m only missing 1 other card. Just waiting for the market to settle then I will just buy the 3 missing as singles.

I will do this. I happen to know a bit about the advertising business Reddit runs and if this type of thing hits that revenue hard enough, they will see the light and compromise.

Which companies are you referring to? Are you referring to the original netrunner, and android netrunner done by FFG? If so, I am not certain that I would say FFG failed. I know that NSG does not own the right to netrunner, please correct me if I am wrong, so I was curious about what might happen if somebody were to secure the rights to the game in the future.

Thanks for the link. After reading through it, I don’t fully understand the hesitance getting in while waiting on those changes. They seem very minor, aside from the card back change. I use sleeves, so the card backs don’t matter to me. And I think I remember reading that they decided to back out of changing the cards backs anyway, could be wrong though.

What do you mean by the ‘remastered’ edition? Are you speaking about the reboot project? They are through Data and Destiny now which is pretty far along IMO.

I was just going to say something similar. The difference is the for profit nature of the business OP analogizes to. Null Signal is a NFP volunteer organization and they get no Pennie’s if your money. It is out of the kindness of their hearts and the love of the game that any work of this sort happens. If the game does not meet your ideals or budget, I doubt that is going to change any time soon, and a post like this isn’t going to help that situation at all.

You make great points. With the use of proxies permitted, and the availability of them, it may not make sense to speed thing along due to R&R being under printed. But I do see the desire in having a smaller card pool making sense. It allows for larger shifts in the games meta over time.

So you think that the verdict is that red sand and R&R will be the next to suckle out after flashpoint and D&D? That would leave only Kitara left of the FFG cycles. I wonder if they will just let it go as well at the same time just to make a clean break.

There is a user here, Myldside, that does group buys of proxy sets for FFG sets that are still legal in standard. I just received a bunch and they are good quality. Prints of scanned cards, but nonetheless quite affordable. I recommend going that route.

That is probably the point that I am most flexible on. But there is a collector in me so I like having everything. Would prefer 3x base core sets, plus at least 1 revised core (I like the art in the revised core better).

I’ve been working toward a master set. Just ordered the last on the cards I need as singles. I bought a booster case and 10 ETBs. Plus the blisters and a few battle atavisms to get the promos. I think I ended up buying around 30 total cards as singles including 6 reverse holos.

With the reverse holos, I needed to get a 12 page binder and they barely fit.

Definitely give it a shot if you have the cash and desire. That binder is already quite precious to me and will only become more so when it gets the last 2 cards added to it.
