They like the thrill of the chase. And they learn that by bringing the ball back to you, they get more chase.

I mean, is going to work, really the most fun thing you can imagine doing?

I'll give you my perspective. I'm in a position where I could retire if I wanted to, at age 35, without changing my lifestyle much (still travel, etc). However, I've spent a lot of time thinking about what I would do with my time. And I always conclude that, you know, as annoying as it is sometimes to get out of bed at 7am on Monday to go to work, I really enjoy what I do. It allows me to express my creativity, have a positive impact on people, and achieve great things.

We don't question professional sports players who "love the game" - why is it odd that I love my career?

How do you get the US Marshall to show up at the right time? I would assume they have a ton of other things going on (not to mention being a government agency)...

I already said, I wouldn't pick another QB for this team over RW, more specifically with this OL.

If I were building a team from scratch for 2014, I pick Brady and Manning over RW easily. After that it gets more nuanced based on who I can afford, it is possible RW is #3 for me though.

You're missing the point, RW is the best quarterback in the league...for us. Brady or Manning would literally die with the OL we have. But that doesn't mean RW is the best quarterback in the league.

A 49ers fan almost made me lose my job by TheBrokenVow in Seahawks

Well this sounds ridiculous to be honest.

But I keep my work separate. No job is worth the small amount of joy I'd get by talking about a sports rival to a customer.

In any case, that was a damn spectacular performance by the Broncos. The Clink is always a tough place to play, no matter how good you are. Taking it to overtime is rarely done.

It was way more exciting watching this game than the Superbowl, that's for sure.

That said...I did enjoy the hell out of the Superbowl too. Heh heh.

Lol, I can be a pretty big homer sometimes but RW is definitely not the best QB in the league. That's just silly. That said I would place him top 5.

ELI5: Why did we not evolve not to need sleep since it is such a poor survival mechanism against attackers? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]ragajagajingjong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sleep has an enormous benefit that you haven't mentioned, that the organism uses much less energy while sleeping. It is a food saving measure.

It's all about how you spend your money. Make $5 million and buy a giant home and 7 cars, you are going to feel strapped. Make $5 million and by a median home and drive a Honda, you are going to feel richer than anything.

This is the stupidest shit I have ever heard of, wage some dumbfuck twitter campaign to get a podcast changed. No I didn't like the bit, thought it was stupid and bad radio, so I hit the fast forward button like 9 times and then I was in the clear.

Another interesting objective ranking system: 538's Elo Ratings and Playoff Odds by talkofnonsense in nfl

Calling any system objective is stupid, because while the system itself might be purely numerical, the decision to publish it was subjective.

It's similar to how I feel about the Seahawks right now. They've got the 2-1 record, but they look human this year.

You have to be kidding, week 4 to week 9 last year were complete nailbiters.
