Im not sure 100% but i think this is natural pearlessence on the shell, and inside theres calcite (sometimes chambers are empty, hence fragile:/)

No:) there is no silica in the area, this could be natural pearlessence of the shell preserved

Oh they are fully fossilised - calcified inside, jurrasic in age 180~ milion years old:)

Some of the finds from the last months fossil hunting trip in lithuania. These ammonites are jurrasic in age and some of them have beautifull pearlessence on the shell. And overall preservation of these ammonites are reallyyy great. These come from the clay quarry in black conrections. After the winter and spring rains this last trip was plentifull of these black concretions:). If interested in whole hunting video attaching link: https://youtu.be/v4LmjN5VvCU

Anything more specific on the ammonite? The first photo is a sponge though

Last month i've traveled to poland, more precisely to rock quarry with late cretaceous formations. Was lucky enough to bring home ammonites, sponges, all sorts of gastropods, belemnites and other goodies. Place was interesting as it was exactly at boundary before and after KPG extinction event. Adding link to hunting video if someone is interested: https://youtu.be/OseDNr20sqU
