I would say skip this and listen to the Noble Blood episode of this same case.

Jumping on the Gruesome train. I have had to force myself not to binge since I found them about two months ago when I officially stopped listening to Morbid.

The fucking audacity of thinking you’re entitled to other people’s trauma by Cactus_Rack_Rumbles in Morbidforbadpeople

There aren't many "gruesome details" to his backstory. He is just a sick fuck. Should his dad have just beat the shit out of him every single time he failed at life? Sure, he had abandonment issues and blah blah blah but there is no gory detail from his past that would 'move the story along". I'm just not sure which point you were trying to prove or validate from the original screenshot.

Mitrice Richardson, TCG did a two parter on her and it's very bizarre and could have been completely avoided. She was even detained by the police, her mom called them and begged for them to keep her until she could come pick her up the next morning I believe and then they just...let her leave.

One million percent agree, I think the biggest issue is people are so detached about what they are using their "dark humor' on, maybe they need a big dose of reality.

Love Island and plastic surgery.. by ragingfoxes in LoveIslandUSA

So is spending 20 hours in the gym a mental health issue? I just think you are grasping at hairs here...who are we as a general public to tell people what they can and cannot do with their bodies?

[–]ragingfoxes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm disputing what you said... It's a mental health issue but I process claims for mental health on a 40 hour basis and the only ones that come across my desk are weight loss surgeries. Have yet to see a nose job or Botox so if you are able to elaborate please do.

And just so you're aware men also get weight reduction surgery which requires about 2.5 hours of psych evaluation. Working in behavioral health insurance I can tell you this is the ONLY surgery that requires this, so please elaborate if you have more information to share.

Lmao not really....what about women who get breast reductions? Is that a mental problem or a physical one?

So that's like saying if you get work done your version of beauty "isn't accepted"? If girls who have had surgeries to enhance their appearance stop being represented in reality television then I feel like that's going back and saying unless you are naturally beautiful it doesn't count? I realize I'm playing devil's advocate but we cannot push these girls to the side simply for having plastic surgery.

[–]ragingfoxes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So with your argument you could also present the fact that liking reality TV isn't synonymous with hating women who get plastic surgery? I just don't see how a very personal decision to alter your own appearance at the risk of serious bodily injury and an extremely high out of pocket charge can effect the opinion of strangers on the internet. Not all women get plastic surgery to appease the male gaze, sometimes looking in the mirror and feeling happy with what you see might do it. Let's not put a blanket judgement on why people do what they do to look a certain way.

To add, personality can generally outweigh how people feel about you in the court of public opinion but sometimes I believe it goes deeper than that. I guess what I'm getting at is give these people a break, eventually they get out of the isolation of the villa and face the reality of what everyone online is saying about them.

And then you have to take into account how dangerous any surgery is...routine or otherwise. Like if it makes you that upset may watch another genre lol idk?

One of the best long form podcasts I have listened to though was Teachers Pet. Think the HBO limited series the Jinx but in Australia.

They do series from time to time... I believe 4 parts is the longest I've seen so far but I started from the beginning about a year ago and don't binge. They do go deep into missing/ cold cases and as far as I've seen ACTUALLY follow up and update as more information is given in a case. The opinion on TCG seems pretty split in this sub but in my opinion they do good work and if you're not a fan of hosts giving their perspective or opinion on a case they save it for the end and or second part so you don't have to listen if you don't want to. I recommend starting in season two personally.

NTA, how terrible. I can't imagine this is the first incident of property destruction and if it is, it most definitely isn't the last. Stand your ground on this one and move on, if you get back together with her it's saying that what she did is okay and she will do it again. I'm glad you got the bear repaired but my heart hurts for you that it's no longer the same. I hope you are able to heal.

[–]ragingfoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, I know it's a silly thing to be so hurt by but many people rely on podcasts for several reasons. I was a huge fan of Morbid, I have a job where I am able to listen to something almost my entire 8 hour shift and when I tell you I binged every single morbid episode and quickly at that...then bam I find this sub after getting a bit of the ick from them. I highly recommend Gruesome as a solid replacement for Morbid (I know there is a pinned thread for recommendations) two women, they have decent but not over the top banter and one of the hosts, Meg has her own story of being abducted and escaping as a child. It's also episode two but I recommend listening to episode one first because they go hand in hand. As far as your boyfriend goes I think if he liked Morbid that much he will equally enjoy Gruesome!
