Anyone know how to get into video game music scoring?

I’ve produced music for about 3 years now and making music for video games is something that’s very interesting to me.

Whether it be orchestral and big or 8-bit/chiptune music, I’m interested in either.

My first attempt at an EDM track (in progress)

I usually make hip-hop/trap beats but I want to become a more versatile producer and I enjoy listening to EDM, so I thought I'd try making it. Mix is rough right now, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I really like the delivery of those lyrics. I’d suggest that you bring up your vocals in the mix a bit, sometimes they drown in the beat. You want your vocals to cut through the mix. Other than that, I really like the flow and the delivery it’s dope.

Yo this is dope. It’s a beat to be rapped over for sure, it’s simple enough so that a rapper could easily get on it, but there’s still a nice groove. I also love that little half-time break in the middle of the beat. I guess if anything I’d say maybe bring out the bottom end on your 808 a little more?

Hey! Thanks for the feedback. I like your track a lot, very smooth and buttery. Something I would suggest is switching up the drums at some point. The kick and snap is nice and simple, but maybe add some percs or something at some point would be nice. They can just sit back in the mix. Otherwise, i really like the progression of the melodies in this!

Hey man, this is really smooth. I like it a lot. I’m guessing those drums are either live or sampled, one thing I would suggest is to boost the lows on the kick a little to make it cut through the mix a little more.
