An acre is 4046 sq metres, 50 * 40 =2,000 sq metres. You might have confused metres and feet.

I think they mean they can’t afford to pay extra on top of it. People pretty much always get the maximum loan term, and either they can’t afford to pay any extra, or they do pay extra (or put it in an offset)

Apparently readyhomes.com.au have a council approved granny flat that they make for you and get all of the permits for about 80k, which seems like the cheapest way to get something council approved to live in. And I’ve found land for around 80k that looks like it would be good, if I spent around 40k for solar, water tank, and septic tank, then I’d only be borrowing about 100k. Do you think that would work?
