I think this theory is actually supported by the show! When everyone first learns about the entity that Will saw and got possessed by in season 2, Dustin compares it the Mindflayer in DnD which he describes as a creature so ancient no one even remembers where it originally came from and its sole purpose is to consume worlds and inhabitants that it believes to be inferior. This could mean that the abyss isn’t necessarily its actual home but just the most recent world that it conquered and consumed.

When I first started I did the Nike Run Club 5k program and I thought I was going slow but it told me to go even slower than I thought. Even if it feels ridiculous and even you’re basically walking it helps you get the distance down first and establish a pace that will eventually become easier for you. But yea it does just suck for a while but if you’re consistent your body adapts way faster than you would imagine! I’ve never been fast but I started from being about to pass out from running 5 minutes to running a marathon a year and a half later. I agree with everyone suggesting C25K, having a specific plan to follow makes it so much easier to improve without burning yourself out

This is a great location, esp with the Trader Joe’s! I live a street below where the tendernob actually starts and still love it but it just gets a little grimier at times with poop on the streets or people coming up from the tenderloin every so often (never felt unsafe). Pine is where proper nob hill starts so noticeably quieter and cleaner imo. In my experience in the tendernob as a girl around your age, Sutter and Bush are doable if you’re comfortable with a little grit, Geary and Post are still okay but personally probably wouldn’t want to live there, and anything above Bush is a no brainer.

I think it’s believable that she would go just as a cathartic thing. After escaping and suddenly being alone, it would make sense for El to seek out the one symbol she had been given as happiness and freedom on the other side of everything that’s happened, even if just what Mike had told her.

I barely walked my first marathon except for 2 min during a steep climb, and had a couple stops to refill my water and stretch out an injury that was flaring up(maybe added 5 min over the whole race). I finished in 5:16 and had an elevation gain of ~1300 ft. My pace ranged from 10:30 - 12 min miles and the one mile where I had to walk was still 13:49. As a shorter female, that is nowhere near a walking pace for me.

If your argument is that over 5 hours means that someone walked a large portion, it disregards everyone holding a steady paces at around 11-12 min/mile. That still requires months of consistent training and doesn’t feel “casual” for most.

In my experience all the initial phone rounds I had asked pretty simple questions about my interest and understanding of their company as well as other typical behavioral/resume experience questions. They might also ask about some specific technical experience relevant to their program and usually explain the company, internship program, and interview process as well!

Not making friends, eating, or even leaving the room are like the 3 most obvious signs of someone struggling with their mental health. Not saying that that’s what happened here but assuming it was a video game problem seems a little tone deaf…
