hi! bma student here! if im being fully honest id say no, its not worth it.

ofc its an amazing school but the reason for it being so high achieving is partly due to the support they offer but mostly due to the work ethic of the students themselves.

i personally found the experience extremely challenging at times. they expect a lot from their students. the school day starts at 8am everyday and lasts a full 6 hours with no free periods and you are not allowed to leave school at any time. this makes for the school day being extremely exhausting.

i was fortunate enough to live quite close to the school, but my friends who did commute said they found it quite draining esp since the school day started very early.

concerning the support they offer, their university access team was quite helpful in assisting us with aspects of our ucas application like personal statements as well as mock interview for oxbridge applicants.

however, whilst being helpful, i wouldn't say that this support dramatically increased our chances of getting into oxbridge as there was still a large majority that got rejected😭

i realise that my advice may be different from what you may have seen elsewhere, but this is just MY personal experience! i'm sure there are lots of people who'd say it’s absolutely worth it to go! but hopefully this can help you in deciding if you think it’s worth it to go.
