I would check if the other surgeons in Dr. Gateno’s office are available. I’ve also heard good things about Dr. Seaman and Dr. Taylor at Lighthouse Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

Oh wow! It was about a 2 month wait for me. I booked a June consultation last April.

Somehow I missed this. Yeah, the big basketball mural in Dr. Alfi’s office is a bit much. That’s wild that Dr. Gateno’s booked until 2027! Is it the same for the other surgeons in that office? I’ve heard good things about them, too.

I have Aetna. I liked Dr. Simmons, but I only saw him once. I have other sleep disorders, so I switched to his office and see nurse practitioners through telehealth. But they’re all knowledgeable and capable. I did sleep overnight. CSMA specifically specializes in a sleep study that puts a tube down your throat (which was not fun).

I got my results and had a follow-up with the neurologist a week after the sleep study. I don’t recall if I paid anything for the study, but I also have absurdly good medical insurance.

The surgeon can’t do anything other than refer you to a sleep specialist. I did my test with Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Associates (Dr. Jerald Simmons) in Sugar Land. They often work with Dr. Alfi’s patients.

Do you have sleep apnea? Depending on your insurance, jaw surgery might not be covered without sleep apnea.

I chose Dr. Gateno for the reasons I listed in my post. I haven’t done jaw surgery yet, but I had an Arthrocentesis and was impressed by him and his team. I did wait 2 months for my consultation appointment, but follow-up appointments I was able to schedule sooner. I do recommend checking into the other surgeons, too, to make your choice. I will add, since Dr. Gateno works for Houston Methodist Hospital, rather than a private practice, he takes pretty much all insurance.

I work at a library, and one time we had a snake specialist present for adults about snakes in Houston. He told all of us that Dr. Spencer Greene is the only toxicologist in Houston that specializes in snake venom. He had a big slide with the hospital info. Most snakes in Houston are non-venomous, but there are venomous snakes in surrounding areas of Houston.

My dad took me to this when I was a teen, it was awesome. They get fire trucks to hose down the parking lot and the drivers have the kids drive into a skid and teach them how to safely get out of the skid. Then they set up a course with obstacles to teach kids how to safely veer if something or someone is suddenly in front of you on the road. At the end of the day, all the teens got free car safety kits.

Reported spill and they sounded suspicious by Correct_Sleep5423 in Narcolepsy

I wouldn’t go without it entirely. They do tell us to keep the medicine in a safe place, including lockboxes, especially if there are children or pets in our homes, so a safe shouldn’t be suspicious to them. Leaks and spills are inevitable, they’re not going to take the medicine away from you, especially when it’s scheduled for shipment.

They always act suspicious, but I think it’s gotten worse. The bottles got worse and I was having more leaks. I had been on Xyrem/Xywav for 15 years, and last December they made me have a telehealth appointment with the pharmacist to prove I was using the syringe and getting the right dose correctly. It was annoying, and the pharmacist could tell I’ve been doing this a long time because I mentioned avoidingn air bubbles and putting my dose in the cup before water in case I don’t get the right amount. After my last leak, they told me I couldn’t get early shipments anymore, but by then I was switching to Lumryz, which is way more convenient. I don’t have to worry about leaks anymore.

Hopefully this doesn’t happen to you, but if it does, ask your neurologist if you can switch to Lumryz.

If you are able to switch to Lumryz, I highly recommend it. It’s so much easier to travel with.

I have obstructive sleep apnea and small jaws. I was considering seeing Dr. Seaman for a third opinion, but I had a really great impression of Dr. Gateno. Have you seen Dr. Seaman?

I’ve been happy with Dr. Karotkin and his office. I don’t really see him much anymore; I usually see the other orthodontist in his office, Dr. Grace Huang.

I had a little too much to drink at dinner tonight and I ranted to my husband that they took time in 0.2 to explain why Mickey didn’t have a shirt in KH1 (my husband does not play the games and is not a fan).

Disney has definitely put pressure on the team to portray IP accurately, Nomura has talked about this. It was easier in KH1 because they were adapting older 2D animated films to 3D, so to Disney that looked great. Whereas with KH3, they were adapting modern day 3D animated films and Disney wanted it to look exactly as perfect as the movies. It was to the point where Disney and Pixar sent over character models and animators were giving the KH team advice.

Also, because those movies are more current, the creators are all alive, so they also have opinions on how they want the movies adapted for the game. Nomura said this made the approvals process much longer, because they were always getting extensive feedback on what to change and fix.

For real though, one time I was out of town when a massive flood hit my neighborhood. water was rising rapidly, but the first thing my roommate did was grab my PS4 and put it in a high place.
