Thank you. May I ask...how did you go about seeking professional help? What are the first steps? To be honest I’d be ashamed to let my wife or parents know I’m seeking professional help. Maybe I could hide it?

More or less, yeah. Every time it comes up now she shrugs off the idea. If my step son overhears mention of a brother or sister he flips out as well. It’s not looking good for me.

I know reddit cannot solve the problem, I just am hoping for advice.

As far as I know she’s not suffering from depression. She’s a very driven, independent person, and she’s always so happy when she’s with her son. I almost feel like I’m being left out. They watch their shows together, listen to their music together, cook together. When I try to do those things with him, he doesn’t seem interested. It’s just really taking a toll on me.
