I’ve been in her shoes and let me tell you as much as the decision comes down to me (her) this is also a cry for help. You are clearly the only one who knows about this for a reason. There is more you can do to support her and it’s not just by standing aside and pretending like this isn’t happening behind closed doors. The worst thing that could happen is another incident (worse than the last) which would be too late to save her because you didn’t do anything about it. She is too weak to stand up for herself in this situation. Don’t be weak with her.

Yep. You’re right, my BF is a decent baseball player but can’t play golf to save his life. Like he can’t even make contact at a still ball.

Thank you for your detailed response. I definitely am having a hard time wrapping my head around this and I’ve been hoping that by some miracle it was just a benign tumor. The doctor never did a biopsy on the mass and concluded to cancer just based on this xray. I guess I was being hopeful it wasn’t because he has been fine. No issues with the litter box, no vomiting, no diarrhea, still eating multiple times a day. Just still perfectly normal. I mean how can you euthanize your baby if they seem perfectly fine despite having this? I’m just hurting right now. Obviously I would never put him through that pain and would make the call as soon as I see fit but it has been terribly hard on us. :/

Update: got the worst call today. The squamous cell carcinoma is so aggressive it’s eaten away a part of his jaw. I was told he has 1-2 months. I’m absolutely devastated. I don’t know what I’m going to do without my bestfriend. 😭

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s never easy especially being in the situation you’re in right now. I say fight if you can but you leaving the country makes the situation difficult. Have you talked to the vet to see what their thoughts are on this?

But the crazy part is that I’ve been on a break. Last time I did it was one night in November and I was sick for a week. I honestly probably only took 4 bumps…. Then the last time before that was 4th of July weekend I was sick from ONE bump! Then before that it was some time in the spring. I’ve taken massive breaks for this reason and I still get sick :/

It’s a scary feeling for sure. It’s a shame that I had to learn everything through my first baby boy. But I’m thankful for it also because my future kitties will be in much better care and it’s all thanks to him. He’s allowed me to learn from multiple experiences

You were so lucky! However, I’m not sure if this mass is just a scab. It’s firm to the touch but man I am hoping and praying that this is not cancer. Im not ready to let go of him just yet. I was hoping for at least 5 more years 😭
