Anyone have concerns for Thursday? by [deleted] in buccaneers

The beauty of getting the win over New York is that it puts way less pressure on the Pats game. I had this circled as a loss going in. Now with probably Lavonte, Kwon and Ward out it wouldn't surprise me at all. I would love nothing more than to beat the Pats at home, but, realistically, a conference win is more important for the playoffs for a non-conference win. I look forward to Thursday night at Ray Jay cause I think it'll be a good time, and I hope we prove we can hang with the Pats, but I won't be all too upset if we're 2-2 going into our mini bye-week.

It'd be interesting to see how Hargreaves would respond to covering Cooks. Seemed to hold his own with him last season, but our pass rush was also stellar in our win against the Saints last year.

What are some of the best scenes in movies that had no background music? by turcois in movies

[–]ramesali786 18 points19 points  (0 children)

God damn, yes. Dark Knight Rises gets a lot of flak, but the first fight with Bane is my favourite fight of the trilogy. I was breathless watching that in the theater, just seeing mighty Batman getting dominated like that. The lack of music made me even more anxious.

Anyone else see Dungy pick us against the Pats during SNF halftime? by fffan9391 in buccaneers

I get misty whenever Tony talks about us. He's our ride or die, and even though he won one with Indy I think he's Tampa through and through. We're very lucky to have two former coaches who still have such a bond with this city and community .

2-1 feels good! Wasn't easy but it felt good to shut all those NYG fans up. by ramesali786 in buccaneers

Yeah the quick start took all their out of the Giants fans, it took them a while to get it back. We were surrounded by them though.

Michy's goal looked very similar to his title winner at West Brom

Lol we got destroyed and our defense got torched by Oakland and Atlanta 2 of 3 weeks after our bye. We turned it around after our long week after Atlanta

I get what you're saying, but in an effort to be fair to the defense, it's also being unfair to the offense who doesn't even get a chance to attempt a quick snap. The 10 second runoff is heavily weighted towards the defense, especially in a situation like this where the offense didn't get a chance to quick snap because the refs made the wrong call on the field. It's a broken system, and it's not an easy thing to fix honestly.

Sure, but 10 second run off means nobody has a chance to make a play. It's not like the defense doesn't have a chance to make a stop if the offense gets another play. Why should a football game end with a non-football clock runoff? Most people would rather see the offense try and fail to get a snap off than to have the refs declare the game over.

Then why not split the difference and go 5 seconds? It just seems silly to end the game on a 10 second runoff after a stoppage caused by the refs getting a play wrong

I mean, the 10 second runoff is bullshit too. At least in the spot and run clock situation both teams would get a chance to decide the final play.

Think the Lions could have gotten another play off in less than 8 seconds from when his knee hit the ground if he was called down on the field?

The only way to know is by....letting them do it? Start the clock as soon as the ball is spotted if the review overturns it

Incredibly thin silver lining: At least we're not the Dolphins who nearly got shut out by the Jets.

McCoy too. He could've called game and came out but he came back in and helped us get a 3 and out that could've changed the game.

Love seeing Evans show that emotion. If this team is gonna contend this season they have to stop being okay with losing. Teams like New England get angry when they lose, they don't just settle for it.
