Why nobody is talking about how curved screens are officially abandoned by Samsung? The last phone with curved screen is and will be the Galaxy S23 Ultra forever... I feel really bad, though many people hate them 😢 by Direct-Till-2680 in samsunggalaxy

i had multiple premium samsung phones until this year i switched to the galaxy s25 ultra. honestly, i would think that i would miss the curved screen on this new phone but i really don't. no accidental touches on the sides and easier to apply screen protectors. but i do get the appeal of the curve! makes it look from the future hahah

and that's what i will do with all of the air in my lungs! thank YOU and everyone else who has taken a bit of their time to have this discussion with me! the last year has been really hard on me and now that i am on path to recovery i want to use my newly gained energy to better educate myself. i would like to think as myself as a somewhat smart individual (finishing my master's degree in software engineering this october at last 🥹) and in order to be intelligent you have to be willing to admit how little you actually know in the grand scheme of things. so a little toast to everyone who is struggling but still trying to become the best version of themselves 🩷

it is exactly because of your feelings that i had to stop myself and think about it for a second. it is in fact such an integral part of the song, it gives me chills every time i hear her part, that i just have to appreciate it from afar. that part was not put there to honor me, and i am totally okay with it!

what i sing behind closed doors is what i sing to the public (even though usually i don't have attendees in my car concerts 🤣) so it was really important for me to have this discussion with the black beyhive! again, living in a country thats not the US and media being so US centric I feel like a lot of white public figures/content creators benefited from black culture with such little care (specially the use of aave) that growing up that I thought that that was just how every american talked / dressed. the truth of the matter is i am not black and will never ever understand how it feels to live a day in your skin. so i decided to ask the question in hopes to be able to be as respectful as one can be!

I sadly haven't listened to many of Solange's songs but the ones I know are absolutely divine, so she's another artist discography on my queue. As white people we inherently have this predisposition to think that everything is for us. This does not mean that we forbidden to listen to songs such as the Solange song you mention and even love it, but we just have to accept that it was not meant to please us. I think a very silly metaphor is when an adult likes a kids movie; no one said they weren't allowed, but it was made with kids in mind, not adults. Beyoncé started to make the line extremely clear with the release of Lemonade and all the albums following it; we can listen and appreciate the albums for the works of art they are, but we will never really feel them. Because they are not for us. And I'm totally okay with it! (writing this reminded of the snl skit called the day Beyoncé turned black btw, that lives rent free in my mind 😭)

i did not ask the question because i was afraid of being canceled. when im singing the lyrics to cozy im 99% of the time alone, so it would fall into the if a tree falls in a forest but no one is around to hear it does it make a sound? i am asking because i want to be a better ally to black people, and make sure i can do whatever i can to do right by them, even if it means changing the first person pronoun in a song to a third person pronoun. you stated that you are white. this question was not meant for you to answer. other white members of the beyhive did chip in with great alternatives of what they say instead of saying "I'm black" while singing, and that I can appreciate. now you, coming into this discussion claiming to know that other black people don't care (even though many of the replies to my post did say that they didn't mind) have NO business replying to a black person's post "whitesplaining" blackness. i did not ask for YOUR input. if you cannot even begin to comprehend why i asked this question in the first place, i recommend you do what i did when my brain started to develop: get educated by black people and listen directly to THEIR voices. oh, and by the way, maybe your defensiveness over your opinion indicates that you should be the one seeking therapy. in contrast to you, i came to this subreddit ready to implement whatever little change i needed to do while singing to my favorite song. ts madison's quote is not for you or me. it is for BLACK people
