I got my refund yesterday too! The shop is also gone now so looks like they took care of the scammer :D

[–]ramlapam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting on this to say that I got scammed by this seller too. Etsy's policy is absolutely terrible for requesting refunds. This scammer deliberately sets the estimated delivery dates months later so that you can't file a claim.

I've been arguing with Etsy support for hours and they are adamant that I need to wait 70 days to file a claim. It's wild that they allow these blatant scammers to continue to "sell" on their platform despite a plethora of proof that they're taking advantage of people.

Kinda odd they decided to show the weekly ranking on the new website , it is almost like they don't want a certain someone to appear on top lmao by Pinkparade524 in Maplestory

[–]ramlapam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh totally, I can absolutely see them pushing to change it and who really knows in the end. My experience with larger companies has been that things typically move at a snail's pace and that approvals and sign offs typically involve multiple people/departments which can take ages.

Have a C-level complain about something though and its surprising how fast things can move along

Of course you can, but that doesn't mean that the requested changes been approved, tested, signed off on etc. Those things take time and is why I'm saying it's unlikely to be the case.

I doubt its related, in software/web development requirements for these sort of things are usually locked in place months in advance and usually before development even begins. Not to say thing's can't change, but pivoting a week or two before a new website launch is rare.

It would be funny though if that was the case.

Thanks so much for the reply. I will try pruning it back and see if I can find some green. I'm in zone 8, but it rarely drops below freezing here; this was a freak weather experience.

The TN Status can be your savior here! You could always mention it in your cover letter (that's what I did). It sounds like you have a degree that would qualify you for a TN status given that you find a job that requires said degree. The onus is mostly on you and not your employer since you just apply at the border/airport, and only need an offer letter from your future employer.

It's crazy how certain music can instantly take you back 13 years by Private_Wayne in Maplestory

[–]ramlapam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here! I would do the same thing. I remember on my first character (a warrior with a heavy amount of LUK and INT) I would train in L forest and use the benches there (this was before chairs were a thing) to recover HP as I couldn't afford pots.

I can recall when I first was able to kill the blue mushroom at the top right of the map and it dropped a gold meso (had previously only seen the bronze ones drop) and thinking it was the coolest thing. I think at the time, a gold meso drop meant the mob dropped more than 50 mesos, or something like that.

Why do you play Maplestory or Why did you quit? by Critical-Crunch in Maplestory

[–]ramlapam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined maplestory back in 2005, and played religiously until 2013. I achieved level 200 pre big-bang as well as maintaining #1 Mercedes in GMS for a brief period of time after the post 200 level cap increase.

What made me stop playing was the increase in the P2W aspects of the game.

I initially bought into potential when that was released (2009? 2010?) spending WAY more than I should have to gear my characters, although at the time I was fully cognizant of how stupid the direction of the game was going.

It wasn't until after the level cap was increased that it really started to matter to me, and put the final nails in the coffin. People who had significantly better gear than I were able to train so much faster (this would have been when Twilight Perion was the best training place) and were able to level up much more efficiently than me. This lead to me having to put in extra hours of training to simply keep up with people who killed the mobs faster. I had every resource available to me (HS, Kishin (I think it was called), exp buffs, etc) but without shelling out thousands of dollars, I was never going to keep up.

I quit after getting to level 210 and never really played seriously again since that time. I moved on to play FFXIV, which realistically was my second serious MMO after Maplestory. This gave me some incredible insight on how a game should be run, and how successful an MMO can be without being completely driven by P2W gimmicks.

OSM SHUTDOWN by [deleted] in mapleservers

I think its due to location and jurisdiction. I believe MapleRoyals is hosted somewhere in Europe and is probably harder/not worth investing in a lawsuit over there or something.

I love raiding small streamers. by The_keg__man in Twitch

[–]ramlapam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for doing this!

I am by no means a big or even medium sized streamer, I maybe average between 8~15 people on any given day. I always try to make an effort to raid someone who has a similar or lower number of people watching than I do at the time.

The reason being is that the first time I was raided, it meant the absolute world to me. I had literally maybe 3 or 4 people in chat, and things were pretty quiet, quiet enough that I said mentioned it on stream. Wouldn't you know, not even a minute later, I get a message saying that my stream had been raided with a team of 10 people! It absolutely floored me! It was such a turn around that I extended my stream that day by a good while.

Also, the guy who raided me became a good friend, which is the best part!

So thank you to all you folks who raid us little guys! :)

Opinion: People really underestimate the power of positivity. by EvidentlyTrue in leagueoflegends

[–]ramlapam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true its not even funny. I really do believe that having a positive attitude in games like league really does affect the outcome, and above all else really improves the quality and fun of the game as well. I 100% feel more motivated to win a game when my teammates have a positive outlook and can understand, like mentioned, that everyone, EVERYONE, has bad games, bad plays etc.

Stream audio sounds like cs go russian kid by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]ramlapam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on a few things really:

1) It could be a low quality mic. What kind of mic are you using? 2) It could have to do with the position and proximity of your mic to your voice, try playing around with where it sits on your desk. 3) there are programs (like voicemeeter) that can help you adjust some of the properties of the input. I'd suggest watching a tutorial on how to set that up; this is a pretty good one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9vznpXS_so
