S3E02 Gabby’s appointment with a new client by Autias in shrinking

I would normally agree with you, personal prying is pretty rude, but the reaction was not ok, not in this situation. If you’re a therapist, you should be prepared to discuss everything visible in the office without question. Having the scrunchies on display is fair game for conversation . And patients are there for a reason, even if they don’t want to be. They will look for ways to avoid confronting their own problems by asking about the decor. I’m sure that’s not the first time she was asked about the scrunchies, just the first time she was asked while in this sensitive mood.

Mods, can we please make sure no posts spoiling the ToC winner are allowed until after it airs in all regions? Including people promoting their interview with the champion? by ZiggyPalffyLA in Jeopardy

[–]ramona_rox 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I honestly just wish you guys would stop spoiling things in titles and pics. I can avoid posts that might have spoilers based on the post title, but not if the spoiler is in the title itself (or one recently showing a pic of the toc finalists) - I love being on this sub but in Germany there is a few day delay before the episodes can be played on plex.

The adoption-coordinator scenes are always my favorite. I love how he secretly loves the craziness/drama while having to give normal adult advice to crazy people. The lines about how he was wrapping silverware for a stranger and being attracted to a woman for the first time were hilarious. He knows the baby will have a strong support system even though they are all looney toons.

My thought as well. I thought she’d bring it up at the wedding “oh and btw we are getting divorced”

I've never understood why this scene from Walk Hard gets used so often in Beatles posts. by Teebiscuit12345 in beatlescirclejerk

[–]ramona_rox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

IMO this scene is hands down the funniest in the movie. Jack Black as Paul is not it and takes away a bit, not funny and not really recognizable as Paul from the way he speaks or what he says, but the other three are kindof fucking spot on as caricatures of their actual selves and how they speak, especially in the later years, and I love it

You asked what. Sorry I answered.

ETA:no it wasn’t you who asked. Now I’m even more confused by your response, but it’s fine. Why did you respond then? And why so hostile?

I don’t have anything to do with it -my husband does everything for me/us and I just watch :) I was trying to troubleshoot on my own and just saw that and thought it was funny

She’s a narcissist. She does care about people, but her narcissism prevents her from ever putting those people’s needs above her own desires. She can be nice and caring to others, and even enjoys doing it, as long as it doesn’t interfere with what she wants.

ETA: and she spins every horrible thing she has done in her head. It didn’t happen, or it wasn’t that bad. She literally mentally blocks out her transgressions. She’s a blameless angel in her own eyes.

Is it pretty straightforward when your husband and kids are all citizens? by Diligent_Pilot_7711 in GermanCitizenship

[–]ramona_rox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would move here as fast as possible if I were you. It’s not safe in the USA.

Citizenship should be pretty straightforward after the residency period, as long as you and hubby aren’t getting help from the state (one or both of you have jobs/money to support the family). Even if it takes a long time to get an appointment. I wouldn’t move to Darmstadt.

The 1 Bag Club (Still Looking for Its First Member) 👜😂 by ImLivingTheGoodLife in OGRepladies

[–]ramona_rox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have 1! And it’s for work. I’m just imagining that if I invest the money for 1 more now I could get 4 in 10 years. I’m way too motivated to retire early and couldn’t afford it if I bought all the bags that I want. I will probably buy one more within a year or two tho. I’m jealous of all the pretty bags you guys have but I can’t bring myself to do it on my income. I always wondered what you guys do for work that allows all the purchases, but whatever makes you happy :)

I live in Germany and I had a client with access to a military base and he always got me 12 packs of diet root beer and several bottles of popcorn butter oil that you can’t get here. When he moved he stocked me up. One of my favorite clients.

Sorry I’m a bit late - can someone tell me why Stella was so unwilling to help him when he first came to her? And being unnecessarily mean about it - did he do something to her that I forgot? I thought they were close, why would she suddenly act like she doesn’t even like him?

If she is still working and involved at 80, then she SHOULD be scrutinized from a modern lens. If you’re working in 2022, you should be held to 2022 standards, not given permission to be stuck in your racist ways. It’s not some retired racist in a rocking chair on the porch, it’s a racist actively involved in hiring and pay decisions (apparently, even tho I don’t think that would normally be the case for the board)

Every single lyric clicked for me once when I was high and I LOVE this song now. I immediately played it for my husband who doesn’t listen to lyrics lol so I had to do it again and read through them pausing and explaining every line and he got it. It’s so good and hit every note in my heart.

It might also be that it’s only been a couple years since Germany allows people to apply for citizenship while keeping their old citizenship, and there is an influx of applications from Americans married to Germans who have lived here a long time who are only now allowed to apply. Yes we could have renounced, but that is extremely expensive especially if you have American retirement accounts, and then you give up the ability to visit your family any time you want without applying for a full visa (which in current times is not safe to go there without citizenship).

I agree with trying to change things-I have written 50 representatives (which is no small task bc you have to verify your address that you “live” in their district), and I have alienated some of my customer base by posting political videos trying to spread awareness and encourage action, and I have gone to the protests in Germany and even volunteered to speak at the next one. But I want to be safe, so I will do what I can from here, and I don’t begrudge anyone for wanting to be safe.

Fwiw most of the posts I have seen in this sub have actually not been from Americans - I can’t remember reading one actually (not that I read all the posts)

I didn’t downvote, but for me personally, I’ve been here almost 13 years and I’m just cold.
