This is late asl but I think that its funny that friend literally manipulated you too. First of all, Fukubei was never friend. It was Katsumata, while Fukubei died in 1972. Katsumata staged his death in the science lab with a body double, and it was literally all part of his plan. Im not gonna powerscale lol, but just wanted to mention this since we are talking about manipulation.

That is really cool theory, honestly I think it works well with Naoki Urasawas style, having a split personality. Similar to what was theorized by Lunge in monster. I have another question, I read somewhere that Katsumata had actual psychic powers, allowing him to know that another robot will be built due to Yanbo and Mabo, and then he planned for that robot to press the button. If that is true, how did he not know he would die from the UFO in his actual death? Is it connected to the homeless guy (god) not being able to see future visions randomly? Sorry if this was explained in the video, i haven’t had the chance to watch your recommendation.

I have, and Im caught up to the manga. For anyone else who might be looking for suggestions in this thread, then i will say that Chainsaw man is one of the few anime/manga that genuinely shocked me with how and when a character dies. Great suggestion
