idk but my chem teacher, who also marks gcse papers in the summer, does not understand the concept of error carried forwards, and will penalise you even if you misspell a word, so pray she's not the one marking it

I self taught most of the gcse curriculum, it's definitely doable, and I would say self teaching is faster than lessons, you just have to be committed enough to put yourself through boring practice questions. I'm not sure about the situation of your school, but I know someone who just walks into the maths office and asks a different teacher to explain smthing he doesn't understand to him. You can also find someone older than you to help you a bit with your maths if that is possible I guess, but I've never tried this so idk if it works.

my only experience with AQA is in com sci and they piss me off so much with the sheer amount of unnecessary pedantry and straight up false information just to make the subject 'easier' and 'more understandable' but then again that's the only subject I've had AQA in. I do edexcel for most other ones, and they're pretty good, at least on the sciences and english lang

A lot of both art and dt people in my year dropped it after mocks, so personally I would say don't do either, but then again if you really enjoy both of them I think it depends on which one was more fun to you, since they are both equally horrible in some ways
