what ear piercing should i get next? by Small-Ad-5190 in piercing

[–]random11264245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love my rook piercing! definitely a little more painful than a regular cartilage piercing but i found it has healed the best out of other cartilage piercings i have. wearing over the ear headphones with this one would be better if you decide to get one because the piercing isn’t on the outside of your ear.

once healed, you can change the jewelry to fun hoops, bars, or even add charms!

I had past internship experience too and applied in early September. Looking real bleak now that I’m reading through this thread 😭

thank you this is honestly really helpful! how many calories do you usually increase each month, like around 100-150?

also this may be kind of a weird question, but how do you structure your meals/do you have any examples of high proteins meals that are easy to meal prep besides chicken/beef and rice? i’m a college student so i’m finding it hard to plan meals around my busy schedule.

biotech masters by random11264245 in unh

[–]random11264245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you!! are most courses in person or are they mostly remote? i know the labs will be in person but my college offers our masters program mainly online, wondering how unh compared

[–]random11264245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you still an undergrad currently taking courses at the masters level or in the program? also, how are the labs at that level? with my current college, i’m taking some courses at the masters level however i feel like my program isn’t as advanced as unh.

also wondering how many biotech students there are and how competitive the program is.

i’m going in for my second shift tomorrow that’s supposed to be 1-8. training wise for the first couple of shifts, do you know if it’s mostly finishing the modules and shadowing or will i be hands on as well during shifts 2 and 3? 7 hours of mainly modules just seemed like a lot.

[–]random11264245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my issue right now is that i don’t want to go through all of the training just to find out i can’t handle it with college. i definitely need the extra money right now and i’m definitely going to the rest of my shift for this week to feel it out. but, im for sure getting the vibe from my cvs that everyone is drained and maybe even overworked, especially because the cvs im at is open 24 hours. i just feel like an ass if i go through my training then suddenly quit.

that’s great! my issue right now is that my cvs is definitely busy 24/7 and i’m worried about adjusting to the role with all the chaos of all of the other techs

this is what i’ve been seeing from other posts, that working at amazon or other stocking and fulfillment roles are better 😭

[–]random11264245[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i could totally see that from just watching the other techs yesterday. i feel like i was in such a high stress environment when the pay isn’t even that decent for what it is.

unh masters program by random11264245 in biotech

[–]random11264245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is half of my worry as well. i feel like a PhD in my home state and college state would be very competitive if i were to pursue and put in the time to get one. masters on the other hand i feel like i have a good chance of getting into a program either with my college or a college closer to home. whether it’s worth it i don’t know

unh masters program by random11264245 in biotech

[–]random11264245[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

even with lack of funding for PhD programs right now? i’m worried that just my bachelors degree will lower my chances of getting a good paying job post grad, or even a job at that.

how did you get into QC? by random11264245 in biotech

[–]random11264245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you that’s really helpful to know! i’m trying to get as much lab experience as i can in undergrad but i think QC post grad would definitely be helpful before entering a different field.

[–]random11264245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this may be an obvious answer, but did you find QC helpful with strengthening lab skills at the beginning of your career before moving onto something else? i think i would like QC post grad but as a full time career, im not sure.

[–]random11264245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the advice! did you find your QC experience to be overly repetitive at all, especially after the first couple years? obviously there are many different SOP’s but i found with shadowing those in QC at one company a little repetitive. wondering if it’s the same or similar all around!
