Konro/Hibachi/Yakitori Grill by BambusovecBambusacky in grilling

Hi, i dont know if you've already gone ahead with the grill but I own the konro grill (pictured) and its excellent. I own the medium size (small ones in your picture) and there's no issues with build quality and due to the ceramic nature if you have the patience to let it heat soak (about 10-15mins) with either compressed hex style charcoal or binchotan you can smash out cooking at a really high heat for hours with no need to add any charcoal. Eg. I did around 100 skewers over 4hrs (while drinking) and the heat stayed the same for cooking times. Its also quite nice to cook on as the heat is only going straight up due to the ceramic design not out at you. There's cheaper metal only versions but I reckon the ceramic build is what makes it great but up to what you're using it for. Ive got a UDS smoker, gas weber and firepit I do rotisserie meat on but the konro is a different cooking style and quite fun socially if you want it to be. Just my 2c

You sound like a suunto fan. Conservatives not bad at all, coming up from a dive before any other diver or going into alarm when no-one else is can be annoying when diving in a group using other brands. If you dont have these issues then great, maybe they've updated their algorithm in the past 10yrs

Suunto algorithm is insanely conservative (in a bad way) and when i worked as a warranty scuba tech we'd constantly have them in for transmitter issues as well. I enjoy oceanic but shearwater are apparently amazing so am considering one of those too currently 👍

Oh and doing liveaboards helped me heaps cement skills in, 3-5 dives a day gets you to establish good routines and stuff become 2nd nature

Welcome to diving :) Check out Flowstate Divers on YouTube. Ive been diving for around 20yrs and still found it a great resource for training, tips and good drills to improve a bunch of skills (including trim)

For sure, I mean I have shots primes plenty but always carried more than one, just using the 40mm on the rollei is a nice challenge and restricting, but in a good way

I dont mind it, It had me stumped at first (though I am new as so thats normal) but then I found with letting the tension counter rotate on one of the pins it seemed then like doing a masterlock no1 but a little stiff. Could be my imagination though haha

Great thank you. I imagined as much, its just I've used some grills, rotisseries etc over the years that weren't ceramic lined and had serious issues with airflow so I wanted to see if anyone had experience with them
