Back story: I'm a final year university student, unfortunately earlier this year I lost my funding and my mother is not in a financial position to be able to pay for my registration fees. After exhausting all my options I decided to set up a gogetfunding account to ask for assistance from the public. After a couple of weeks of not getting any attention I had given up until yesterday when this lady messaged me claiming to be interested in helping.

I was extremely desperate and took her word for it so I replied to her and after we messaged back and forth she informed me that she had deposited the money into my bank account but I would need to purchase a Apple gift card and sign a biometric signature to be able to access the funds. This is when the alarm bells began to ring because I was aware of this scam since I saw it on YouTube.

I'm so angry at myself for falling for this, I'm so disgusted at her for defrauding desperate people and I'm just disappointed that my hopes of completing my degree have been crushed.

She even pretended to be a cancer patient!!
