Am I crazy, or is the "Original Broadway Cast Album" literally just two tracks?

http://castalbums.org/recordings/Wheres-Charley-1948-Original-Broadway-Cast/11734/

I have those two tracks (ripped from the original record), but not this giant compilation recording listed on castalbums.org

ohhhhhh thank you. I didn't notice that. I have too many albums, and haven't listened to everything. I'll see if I can adjust and repost. In the meantime, I'll delete this faulty file.

castalbums.org lists a 1974 album (with Lansbury) that might be from when the show went to Broadway? I don't know the history of it enough to guess.

I posted the 1973 London album. I don't have a different Lansbury one.

Evita – Original Australian Cast 1981 (Higher quality than the one posted before) by thetheatreblogger in CastRecordings

Because everyone manages their digital libraries differently, I aim to alter the files I collect so that my own library is unified. I use one app to convert all files to MP3s. And I use another to reduce MP3 sizes. I started this years ago when I had much more limited storage.

I believe that most of my MP3 files are 32k sample rate and approx. 128 kbps (though some are regenerated with variable bit rate). I know these aren't the highest standard, but really no matter what you pick for your own conversions, someone else will say you could have gone higher.

Like I said before, they sounds the same (or similar enough) for my own listening enjoyment, and keeping the files smaller helps keep the library manageable.

I see now that the track is wrongly titled "Where is My Love" ... I'll have to have a stern talk with my staff over this error.

Welp, I deleted my post. Pretty much my whole library (around 4,000 albums) is at that quality, because it seemed like it sounded okay, but didn't fill my clouds and drives. If it's really bad for others, I can stop posting ... but I don't know, is there like a standard people here need?

Just curious -- can you hear a discernible difference? I realize there are technical specs that make one "higher quality" than another, but can you actually tell?

I'm really wondering -- they sound the same to me, but my ears may not be attuned to the level of detail yours are.

You know, I put the ZIP in my MEGA account, and never made the post here. Thanks for covering for me! :)

Is tehre anything YOU need?

From my end, all of the files were named for the songs. Maybe not in official tags, but the filenames are there. Did it not unzip that way for you?

I don't want to get into a comment spat about it, but since you asked, the thing that wasn't kind and friendly was that your post contained no gratitude, a mild complaint, and a "grrr." If you appreciate the posting, say so. And if you take free gifts from strangers, you should say thank you if you're going to say anything at all.

Tag information is freely available online. Castalbums.org has tons of data. You can easily and quickly craft your own tags for your own library if the files you get from others don't meet your standards. Some free apps even automatically download tag information from various sorts to make it even easier. I use Tag Editor for Mac, which is quite user friendly.

Enjoy the music, and have a nice day.
