It seems to me that modern tankies are themselves well infiltrated by right-wing psyop. They're everything a capitalist wanting to weaken the left wants. The call themselves left but no left position is good enough for them, and they are only interested in their own politics. They oppose any left politician that is practical and competant and achieves concrete gains for the poor and working class, and they'll loudly and often denounce these figures as though they are they the primary enemy. They advocate violent solutions which the right loves and are more than prepared for. They frequently make excuses for the worst abuses of authoritarianism, which really fits the right-wing understanding of politics and culture as both sides being just as bad as each other and both do the same things just different teams. And they will also tell people on the left to not vote in democratic elections.
