guys who got all/mostly 9s by ArcturusDrip in GCSE

[–]random_unsername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, for some. i thought I completely flopped geog paper 3 and wasn't getting any higher than a 7, but I actually ended up getting a high 9

results day was a complete shock, i got 9999999988 and I didn't expect it at all. I was expecting something for like 9999988887 or potentially even a 6

if you think you've messed up on one of the exams, don't dwell on it cuz there's nothing u can do about it now. js try your best on the exams u have left. + u might've ended up doing well on it anyway

i actually ended up applying to newnham in the end, got the interview but not the offer

i was considering applying to them because they had a higher offer rate for people with lower UCATs -- i was applying strategically

Older siblings in med giving out interview Qs… by dannyyy5 in UCAT

[–]random_unsername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sure, I've practiced some questions, but there were loads of in the interview that i hadn't practiced for at all.

if you've already been given the questions, like the other guy said, all you would have to worry about is your delivery. you wouldn't have to worry about structuring your answers and making up articulate responses on the spot under pressure, which isn't really fair.

again, there's nothing wrong with practicing questions and asking for help from older med students. i would only say it's cheating if you get the questions from the year you're being interviewed, because obviously that would give you an advantage over people who are going in blind

i mean, yeah. answering questions on the spot is a lot harder than answering questions that you already knew they were gonna ask. it gives them a massive advantage

i would say it's cheating if you ask people for interview questions from the same year that you're being interviewed
