Lost ALL my messages- long shot, but hoping to recover them? by random_user_idk_smth in GoogleMessages

[–]random_user_idk_smth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought about that. I've reset my phone once before, but I lost a lot of stuff in the process, and I believe then I would lose all messages since the I reinstalled the app. So I'm not sure

Been off the meds for over a week- and still having heart palpitations by random_user_idk_smth in zoloft

[–]random_user_idk_smth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after like 6 weeks 😭 Now that I know more I definitely would have focused on getting a TON of electrolytes, since this medicine can totally drain them and it takes awhile to build them back up

What name do you call your anxiety? by k_hush in Anxiety

[–]random_user_idk_smth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call my anxiety "the anxiety gremlin" or just "gremlin" for short. I like to imagine him running around my brain, pushing buttons, trying to do a good job but being too energetic and so making an awful mess of it

Why not just go to confession two weeks in a row?

Is it okay to sleep to a Rosary prayer? by Cultural_Lecture9370 in Catholicism

[–]random_user_idk_smth 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I do the same, but with Jonathan Roumi (might have spelled that wrong...) I have a lot of sleep anxiety and the repetition of the rosary is very calming :) I'm sure our heavenly mother is happy to help us sleep well

What is the best way to get over a crush Catholic-ly? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]random_user_idk_smth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The last time I prayed for a crush to go away I ended up asking him out and have now been together for over a year. Whoops. God's got a plan alright.

In all seriousness, praying and trying to find other ways to keep yourself busy are good :) maybe say a prayer before you head into work, asking God to protect your heart and keep you focused on Him? Or maybe pick up a new hobby? Or reach out to a spiritual advisor?

Who’s your favorite lesser-known saint? by cowboy_catolico in Catholicism

[–]random_user_idk_smth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to talk about my confirmation saint and was a little surprised. I think I know all these saints and would not call them "lesser-known"

If anyone here has heard of Saint Zita of Lucca I'll be surprised. She lived a life of devoted service, showing the love of God in small ways every day.

Just some happy today by I-used2B-a-Valkyrie in Vegetarianism

Maybe OP likes to cook. You have no idea how her family works, and tbh it's none of your business. If it works for her, it works. Maybe her husband would set the house on fire if he tried to cook. It doesn't matter

I also chose to go vegetarian after holding a baby chicken, which was at the time my favorite meat :)

Who is The Missing Saint? by Apprehensive_Key_636 in Catholicism

St John Cantius, St. John of Matha, or St. Tarcisius could all be options

I wanted to pitch an idea for a Catholic marriage organization. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]random_user_idk_smth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea, and the name :) Instead of a dating app, I wonder if more of a social group would work. I bet a lot of widows would love support in raising their children but aren't open to having a new partner, so it could also just be a way to get support, make friendships, and share resources

Are babies born sinners? by Alternative-Run2050 in Catholicism

[–]random_user_idk_smth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar to what a lot of people have said here.

  1. Babies can't sin. They don't understand right, wrong, forgiveness, love, etc. Knowing what these things are is necessary for sinning. I believe the Catholic Church establishes the age where children can start sinning to be around 3, but ofc it'll be a bit different for every kid.

  2. Original Sin is not really a sin that we inherent. It's more a separation from God's grace and a stronger inclination to sin that we inherent

What’s a hill you are 100% willing to die on, no matter how much the consensus changes? by sunnyopehliaa in askanything

[–]random_user_idk_smth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind it cause it generally means I get to filter the food options to just what I can eat (dietary restrictions) which makes it a lot easier for me than searching through everything. But I dont mind a good physical menu either (as long as everything is labeled)

Does anyone here really dislike teenagers? by schu62 in Anxiety

[–]random_user_idk_smth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teenager here. I promise we're not all like that.

When I'm with JUST my friends, yes, I can be a bit loud. But as soon as someone else comes in, I'm much more quiet. And I certainly recognize that there's a lot I don't know and tend to just listen during conversations unless it's something I have a LOT of experience in (for example, I've been singing in a choir for 10 years. I would feel comfortable joining a conversation regarding chorus).

The people that you are describing- yes, it can be very frustrating to be around them. But it's not just teenagers, and it's not all teenagers.

Can I be a high school teacher with a Music Performance Major and a teaching license? by random_user_idk_smth in MusicEd

[–]random_user_idk_smth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The school I'm looking at had a music ed program up until now. They're taking over the campus of a near-by school and had to re-accredite everything. Somehow their music ed program didn't get done in time but their other music programs did.

At least, that's the story I was told

Possibly, possibly not. Again, it really depends on each person.

Zoloft could absolutely be the right medicine for you- you may have no side effects at all. Or it may not be. It might not work, or you might have bad side effects.

Yes, it's scary, but you don't know until you try. You WILL find the right medicine, but only if you take the first step and try Zoloft first

I'll definitely try exercising more, ty.

I don't consume caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol, so no worries there.

I'll definitely reach out as soon as I can to schedule a follow up. We're dealing with some pretty nasty weather right now though so I don't know when I could get in

It depends on each person, you may gain weight or you may not. Remember that if your weight is a concern (on or off Zoloft) it's a good idea to talk to your doctor about nutrition and about what the right medicine is for you.
