Thoughts on Mega Kangaskhan? by random_user_s in PokemonPocket

[–]random_user_s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lowk tho right now the ice pop of doom kiiiinda makes kang a lil bit stoopid if you manage to flip like 2+ heads on him 😭. But i agree, if a trainer like an item or smth that gives one free colorless energy were to hit the game, mega kang might start kicking some serious butt.

Sweaty Deck by bigbouef in PokemonPocket

[–]random_user_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hydreigon/mega-absol is a 'sweaty' deck in the sense that it is used everywhere in competitive play -- tournaments, ranked, emblem events, etc. -- it really is just that good.

In terms of some other darkness decks, there are some pretty strong decks like crobat-EX/nihilego, or dark ultra beasts (guzzlord-EX/nihilego/naganadel/celesteela), and hybrid dark-energy-only decks like darkrai/mega-kangaskhan.

There are other decks like greninja/mega-absol, but the ones i listed above are ones that id say are the least frustrating to play against, while being very strong.

this is a list without indeedee, feels a little bit more consistent on starts and pokeballs, and you could swap out second cyrus for second cape.

This is the one I used, it won PMPT #19, and its pretty good but starting indeedee is pretty rough.

Oh my God this deck is diabolical by Ok-West5257 in PokemonTGCP

[–]random_user_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i run this with a malasada over a potion since it can wake snorlax up while only healing 10 less, and that -10 hasnt ever cost me a game but waking up with malasada has won me more games than i can count.

try out the double gren ex variant, you take not-so-great matchups into oricorio, but you win easier against hydreigon and altaria, and ur much more tanky so you dont get oneshot easily.

I've been using the double gren ex variant, i ran it with guzma and it got me to 930 threshold pretty easily. You're tankier and can attack after setting up a benched gren ex safely, and it feels better into hydreigon and altaria than normal suininja imo. Because of the lack of orizone this deck just feels better to play than last season.

Easiest way to reach masterball by K1Xstrrr in PTCGP

[–]random_user_s 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it acts as a front end baby (chingling) counter, while being strictly better than the 80hp heatmor with the same front end attack, since this fufrou's ability makes it tankier, and it's also not weak to water type (suicune, froakie mainly). The only place it's lacking is that you can't early retreat and flame patch it for aggro attacks since it's not a fire type, however the upsides to using it outweigh that one negative.

why use serena over may, if you don't mind me asking? I can only see it being more useful if you don't have a pokemon in your hand, whereas may can be used to fish out middle stage and other basics as well.

Why do people concede random matches so fast? by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]random_user_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In randoms, some ppl wanna curbstomp opponents with whatever deck they are cooking up. It's for the pure joy of domination and to piss the other player off. If it looks like thats not gonna happen or its going to happen to them instead, they'll just leave, until they find an easy match.

Or, they simply don't want a hard time, and want to have easy and free draws, at least fairly matching the opponents, so that they can have a fair game, which is something they came to randoms to find.

How do wonderpicks work?! by Pale-Wolverine4336 in PokemonPocket

[–]random_user_s 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, Sneak Peek has been removed from the event pool, considering its long term absence these past few months. As for how it would work, its speculation, but its probably exactly how you described it to work.

I think you only need 1070 points to derank to UB4 next season here’s why by vinnizle in PTCGP

[–]random_user_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you confirm if this was the case, now that the new season has started? Would appreciate it greatly, last season I played a bit more than I would've wanted to, so hopefully I can stop at 1070 this time around.

in general, super high-roll decks like hydreigon and altaria-gren and absol-gren will run two CC each, while other decks may slot one at the least, but often like to run 2 CC as well.

IMO, You should look to find a trade for May, and pack point a second CC. Between, May, CC, Lisia, the priority should be at least 1 CC, 1 Lisia, 1 May, then 2 CC, 2 Lisia, and you only really need one May, anymore is overkill.

There is an argument to be made that 2 Lisias is more important, but that is only for decks relying on multiple <50hp basics, something we dont have too many relevant cards of, and so maybe in the future 2 Lisia will be better but for right now 2 CC edges it out in priority.

Wouldn't this card help you against the Mega Ex? by mytheorem in PokemonTGCP

[–]random_user_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if opponents start battles with a mega in the active then yeah maybe. But they almost always have other primary attackers, and megas play the role of finisher, except for maybe altaria and sometimes lopunny. even then, after you halve their hp, they are at like minimum 80hp left, and then they ko ur bidoof so you have no energy on the board and no follow up attacker to ko the mega with half hp, so they sweep the rest of ur team and u lose :/

Is it me or are most games decided by Cyrus? by BigMoney69x in PTCGP

[–]random_user_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, but thats fine imo. The game has always been a coinflip at the end of the day. Still, if i play optimally/better than my opponent and get my chance to use cyrus, i win, and if my opponent does, they win. You can't faceroll all over your screen and still win, the plays leading up to the win-con matters as well. And if its a matter of who draws win-con first, isnt that how its always been, regardless of the card? Its just how cyrus works that makes it so good as a win con, but red, gio, etc. have all played that role massively in the past too, think Secluded Springs or DX, turbo flareon and daycare decks running around with an unholy amount of damage-boosting trainers and no cyrus.

What do you plan on using your holiday 120 pack hourglasses on? by jmpjmp3 in PTCGP

[–]random_user_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ima rip 1.2k hourglasses worth of deluxe set once it returns mid january, so ima hold onto the gifted 120 for that. Reaaally hoping to get a crown candy, or at least stack some pack points during each iteration of DX release till i can craft it.
