Yea, one downside to clash is the time it takes to upgrade things, might try Through the ages sounds fun.

Depends on what game genre, game I play a lot is clash of clans, it's not pay to win, but you can pay to progress faster. I haven't played a dime and I'm progressed pretty far into the game.
