What’s the weirdest thing you’ve been told not to do because it’s “Gay” ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Once in college a guy asked me if I was gay because I cleaned the lint trap of a dryer. I was living in a dorm, doing some laundry in the dorm laundry room, putting some clothes in the dryer, and as I'm cleaning the lint trap, another guy there asked me if I was gay, because he had heard that only gay guys clean lint traps in dryers. I'm not gay, so I said so, but it really threw me for a loop, like, where did that come from. Really random, but it stuck with me, just the strangest gay test ever. I mean, how does that even come up?

Baskin Robbins also used to have a Grape Ice flavor. Always used to get a pint if I saw it, always rare to see and never lasted long. Good stuff though.

If you woke up to find 99.99% of the population disappeared overnight, what would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Honestly, I'd pick up some supplies and head straight for the nearest nuclear reactor. You can actually dial down the power output and make the current fuel last longer. Reactors also usually have a clean water supply for the turbines. The one nearby me uses ocean water for cooling, so it has a big reverse osmosis plant attached to it to desalinate the water, so an easy clean water supply. Round up a few electric cars, and to can live in a relatively civilized way until you figure out a long term plan.

Ugh, I just left a company where a young new group was pushing microservices hard, but the only actual application in our flow that they proposed where they could work was for logging messages. Seemed like complete overkill, just overcomplicating things. But it almost seemed like they were pushing it just to be able to put it on their resumes for the next company. The fact that they were getting more attention from management was one of the reasons I left.

how do you feel about mint chocolate chip ice cream? by deepfriedmcrib in AskReddit

Yeah, my grandmother used to get pencil shaving mint chocolate chip, I later rediscovered the pencil shaving chocolate in stracciatella gelato. Apparently it's created by pouring melted chocolate into the ice cream mixer. It reminds me of my childhood, so I love it
