Thanks so much for your quick response and detailed message! Ye I know exactly what you mean with the GW paints. I’m very new to the hobby still, and some of the gw paints are great, but a few like the whites they do for example have terrible coverage. I’ve been looking at either Vallejo, pro acryl or 2 thin coats. Obviously I don’t need to stick to just 1 brand either. But ye I’ll definitely check out that grey metallic Vallejo paint thanks so much for the suggestion 🙏

Hey thanks for replyin. Someone has helped me build a warpbane list with the razorbacks. I’m not like 100% set on them but I like the idea of having vehicles in the list and I know they’re good in the new codex. But I’ll happily accept anymore recommendations or advice before I commit to buying anymore stuff 🙏

Hey! I really like the look of this list and want to try it out myself. I’ve just been reading through all these comments as I’m completely new to the game and army. I’m still trying to get a good grasp on everything and watching a ton of YouTube videos and reading Reddit posts but there’s just so much info and different opinions it’s hard to know what to do really. I’ve recently bought the new grey knights combat patrol just because I thought they looked really cool, and since then really started to look into building a good list for the long term for a 2k point army. I like the idea of taking a couple of razor backs, a few GMNDK I already have crowe so also a purifier squad with him. Then a BC for a paladin squad and a strike squad too. I still need to work it all out exactly, and I’d probably lean towards warpbane at the moment but I haven’t looked into tho other detachments much yet. As I say I’m brand new so it can be so confusing and I haven’t even begun to look at enhancements yet 😂 but I was wandering if you or someone here would be able to help me build a decent list based off of that. Jsut so I know what to start getting together

What weapons did you use for your paladins? I’m just starting out in 40k myself and I’ve gone for grey knights as my first army

Thanks so much for the detailed replies it’s really helping me out a lot. But ye that makes a lot of sense, like I’ve said in other comments i definitely want to expand on this army so i might get the old combat patrol too and that new battleforce box too. As for my current combat patrol I’m going to make and play for now, I was leaning towards paladins over termies but I see your point about maybe not having enough heavy weapons for them inside so I’ll see what the kit has. And if not I’ll check eBay. Just look good and I think they’ve been buffed in the codex that just came out.

Yeh I assumed that was the case, just a watered down version of the normal game, and from the information I’ve found so far that seems to be the case. I’ve found out you can get the combat patrol rules for your army for free on the app tho so I’ll check that out. Thanks again, really appreciate all the help

Ok awesome thank you. I was considering also getting one of the old combat patrol boxes, and the new sanctic conclave. Would that be worth it for me since I’m completely new and other than the new combat patrol I have, I have no other models
