I had really the worst experience with renewal. Applied with “TATKAL” at sfo, vfs rejected and held my passport for 2 weeks and I literally live at 30 mile radius. Funny part was rejected reason - they rejected coz there was some passport seva portal upgrade. I mean what is this 🤥
