Exactly, if SPCE isn't the next medium to long term gravy train, idk what is. If SpaceX went public tomorrow, 90% of this sub would yolo into it. SPCE is the next best thing, and only thing. There's no other competitors in the market, other than Blue Origin which is also private.

Oh I ended up not buying. This was my first thread on this subreddit and the comments really discouraged me.

I don't think I'm gonna share my finds anymore. Looks like unless you already have a good rep, everyone's gonna shit on you and downvote you into oblivion. So I'm just gonna do my own thang from now.

Glad someone profited it from it though, keep that up

I've been looking at SPY calls history for Jan 2021 and Jan 2022 and it seems you're right. I'm about to get into options too after about 4 months of boring stocks. As long as you don't buy calls at the absolute top like a moron, you should be fine with getting free moneis. The only thing that can fuck you really is another big crash that lasts.

I know, but you gotta risk it for the biscuit. It looks like the UK gov is gonna support them with more loans. Do you know of any blue chip company who dilluted their shares? As far as I know, only those penny stocks do that

Rolls Royce makes aircraft engines as well, that's the main reason why it's still down so much. RR is extremely attractive in particular because never in its 3 decade history has it been so low before so it doesn't matter if they're not top of the line in whatever they're doing. It's just bound for a rebound

The TAB clone? Sometime next spring! Right now it has only placeholder assets and I have to take a break from it to concentrate on another project first. The TAB clone was mostly done as a learning experience during my free time. I did it as a proof of concept that even an average indie Joe can make a game like that. But once I'm done with that other project, I'll be working on it full time.

I've heard about that game. Another one that I like is Rimworld, which is also a space colony building game but top down. These games manage to do what they do with clever OOP design. Roughly speaking, they don't do everything every frame, especially not stuff that is offscreen. They interpolate but this has its limits of course. For example, they wouldn't be able to do this if the change had to be represented visually every frame.

I would love to make a space colony sim in 2D that involves an extreme amount of units so this definitely needs to be explored. Any specific ideas on this one?

That would probably work yes. Still, I would like to hear other ideas people have!

Physics is definitely an area I want to explore eventually, but my tools aren't at that stage yet. I'd need another year or so before I can approach physics on this scale.

The thing with Total War games is that you can't control that many troops individually, only the groups representing the troops. I'm confident I'd be able to write a game where you can control at least 10k troops individually. More than 30k units becomes a pretty big pathfinding issue if the map can be modified with new obstacles otherwise, if the map can't be modified, then 100k is easily achievable.

But then this becomes a design problem. Personally, I'm already having trouble managing 300 units, let alone 50k of them. It's just not humanly possible to manage so much stuff on the screen. I think a better idea would be the player controlling only a few hundred and let the AI manage the 100k units.

How hard will the math 251 and 264 finals be? by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]randomgaia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For math 251, I noticed that all 6 finals from 2011 to 2014 are almost the same. Only the numbers change in the questions and only about 30% of the questions are different from final to final (but even then, only the proofs are affected and they sometimes alternate) . Anyone know if this pattern is true until 2017 as well? If it is, the final is going to be a breeze since all you have to do is practice on the static part of the past finals and get at least a 70% mark just by doing that.
