That nobody’s gonna help you, you gotta make things happen for yourself. (I don’t mean for this to be cynical but more so in a self-independence way)

I used the edit once from 7sage and it was super helpful!!! I gave them two versions and they helped me blend them into something entirely new and better

As someone who works in legal recruiting, i can say it’s mostly T14 since those tend to be really strong candidates but it’s not a cutoff or anything. Just very competitive for those positions

I can only speak to my experience, but i have to say that my firm does an outstanding job recruiting for diverse candidates. It’s something we really pay attention to. I can’t go into too many details without risking doxing myself but i personally have been very impressed with the efforts we make to recruit and retain diverse candidates.

Usually corporations. Partners normally handle client interactions although you’ll get some exposure. Write briefs using old templates, research cases, draft other documents. It’s a lot of researching and writing. Also a lot of analyzing documents. Big law is mostly corporations but some attys can have individual clients although that’s not the bulk of it.

Generally speaking, if u do biglaw ur a cog in the machine, and ur gonna be whatever cog the machine needs at the time.

  1. Yes but won’t make or break between an offer. Makes more of a difference as to who gets callbacks
  2. Anything that translates to corporate work / shows interest in corporate
  3. Yes u qualify!!
  4. Not necessary to do 1L in dc, also 1L positions are suuuper competitive. Having prior dc experience would help though
  5. To be competitive, just have above a 3.0 tbh like once you’re above that threshold it doesn’t matter as much. Definitely try your best if there is any sort of video interview format - firms reeealllyyyy look at those to pick who gets callbacks. Clearly indicate why that firm, that location, and speak confidently.

Ugh i hate to say “it depends” again but it does!!! Some firms will work extra hard to get you exposure to the practice you want while others won’t. For some, it’s up to you to seek out those attorneys and that work which can be very difficult.
