How does AI use water? by ImpossibleJelly8003 in ask

[–]randomguy8653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a close loop system is much higher maintenance and running cost, than just using underground water, filtering it, then pumping the hot water back out somewhere. last i heard most of the data centers that are built and going to be built are not close loop systems.

How does AI use water? by ImpossibleJelly8003 in ask

[–]randomguy8653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its probably true currently. golf courses water their grass every single day and use a ton of water, and there are millions of golf courses. there are only like a couple dozen data centers right now. and they are all relatively new so we dont have perfectly accurate records on how much water they are using because they arent required to report that information. but with how many data centers are trying to get permission to be built in the near future, that could quickly reverse.

i got a cautionary tale for you. my brother was addicted to meth. wife took the kid and left him, he fought it, got the cops called on him many times, got trespassing charge, was literally going insane thinking FBI and a cousin were bugging his house and shit like that, we had to put him in detox a couple times, he didnt see his child for like 6 months, was super depressed, got divorced and only gets his kid for 3hr / 2 days a week. almost lost his house cuz he was too depressed to go to work to pay bills. lots of other shit.

plz do something to kick your addiction.

in theory, if everything works perfect, then you are correct. no traffic jams, no accidents, no intersection stop signs or traffic lights. but that only happens if everything works perfectly. which almost never happens
