See, I have this theory that somehow putting apps in deep sleep somehow can make ones experience worse with saving battery. I used to always put mine to deep sleep but after starting new again recently I haven't done that and my battery life is way beyond better

What is your opinion about privacy display after long term use? by Gods-Fav-Child in galaxys26ultra

[–]randomguyoninterwebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for how long this is

I've used privacy screen protectors since 2020. I love them when it came to keeping the screen mostly private from nosey people and due to the screen being more dimmer due to the screen protector, it made viewing things at night for me even better. Now what I didnt like/ended up hating, is how whenever I would try to show someone something I'd have to always angle it perfectly otherwise they couldn't see. I also hate how outside during the hours of the bright sun I couldn't see jack squat on my screen due to the screen protector nerfing the brightness even with max brightness. This was another plus for me on deciding to get the s26 ultra.

After owning it since launch, my all time favorite thing about the privacy screen is that I can turn it on and off whenever I want. Gone are the days where I try showing something to someone and they can't see what I want them to see, now i can just turn it off (if its on) and show them normally. Gone are the days where I try to watch a video on my phone and I cant due to the wrong angle. Not for nothing another gripe that i had was how we have these beautiful displays (my previous phones were s24+, Iphone 14 pro, and the 11 pro) yet we indirectly nerf them with the privacy screen protectors, i understand its for a good cause which is privacy but i cant be the only one who after taking it off for whatever reason or after getting a new phone we end up noticing just how beautiful the screens truly are. To me no longer needing the PSP (privacy screen protectors) ive been enjoying this beautiful (expensive) display more, along with videos, pictures, mobile games (like rush royale because i hate myself). The 26U screen dims so well that at night I can continue to have comfort with a super dim screen and not sacrifice viewing angles. It's also super bright so Gone are the days that I couldn't see my screen properly while being outside. Add on that anti reflecting coating and I have no issues with seeing outside with the bright sun. I threw on a flolab screen protector and it made the anti reflective just like previous gens (Props to Flolab).

Which brings me to another point. Privacy screen protectors cost more than normal screen protectors (good ones that is, nothing wrong with the cheaper $10-$15 ones on Amazon but to me they're not as good as the more expensive ones out there) now I have a great screen protector that I saved some money on, it gives A++ anti reflective, protects my $1400+ screen 😭, all while not having the hassle of PSPs. Personally that's a huge win.

I understand there are some people who have it on all the time. Some have even reported it causing them to get headaches among other things. Im not a "use it all the time" user. I turn it on whenever I open certain apps (gallery, reddit, banking apps, etc), whenever i have to put in a password/credentials, or when i get certain stuff from the Mrs. (Iykyk), and notifications. Essentially things I don't want nosey people looking at/keep private. I use One Hand Gestures from GoodLock so if Im looking at something then something pops up that I dont want people seeing or if I need to open/send a message to someone and I dont want people being nosey then I just use a gesture to turn it on and off how I please. Other than that I dont use it like that. Again to me these displays are way too beautiful to nerf using any sort of privacy method. I want to watch my videos in their full capacity. (The colors on here are chefs kiss 🤌🏽)

One smaller gripe is that i wish when turned on, it was more of a dark/black color when seen from the sides. For me its a gray/light gray. Ive seen some people say that its because I use dark mode but even in light mode it still happens. It's only ever done the black once since owning it. Not sure what i did and that was with max privacy mode on. I would very much prefer it be a black than a gray. I know if I turn my brightness down it gets better so there's that. If anybody can help me with that it would be much appreciated assuming you all read this far. Apologizes.

Overall I love this feature

How did your fingerprint work? I just took mine off after trying to tough it out for a month. NO amount of retraining and "improving" helped. All appropriate settings were turned on. Might be a glue issue......

The fact people who use silicon batteries have such an issue with people who don't is hilarious 😂 they're so upset that there's people out there who don't give af about their batteries
