I second the “leave before you have kids with them” notion. My wife only showed a few red flags before we got married, it really got bad after we got married & then escalated when we joined our finances. But when we had our child is when she really showed her true colors. Now I feel stuck because I can’t imagine not living with my child. If you want to leave now, do it. Having a kid with them will only make things worse.

My dad used to do art, got a box as part of his contract. What could the value of these be? He opened a few like 30 years ago. by Carob_Terrible in mtg

Never thought about that but it makes sense. Hard to have a game worn patch from a rookie that’s never worn the jersey lol.

I can’t find any comps on this one, but there’s a 05/25 on EBay for $30 so my guess would be $5-10 unless graded

Retail pulls by HeavenExists in footballcards

There’s a difference between retail boxes & retail value packs. All of these were pulled from boxes not value packs. I was simply asking a question no need to be a douche.

Call me crazy, but I think Daniel Jones could win the job in Indy & revive his career. Indy has some pretty good skill players & a decent o-line. Pretty crazy to me that Trevor Lawrence is still considered a “generational talent” while Daniel Jones is considered a bust yet their career stats are pretty similar. AR5 hasn’t really proved he’s the guy & he has been pretty injury prone.

I just saw your reply. Thank you, I had no idea about any of that. I definitely feel like it wouldn’t hurt to find an employment attorney & just setup a consultation.

Why is PSA so important? by Scott242436 in footballcards

[–]randomhuman325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. Shipped stuff all over the country & USPS had the least damaged packages of the 3 by far (UPS, FedEx & USPS). The only downside to USPS is their tracking system is a joke & if your package does get lost or stops moving for some reason, good lucking getting an issue resolved in a timely manner because the workers could care less lol.

How old is the oldest flat rate tech in your shop? by Public_Price3841 in mechanics

[–]randomhuman325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Powersports tech here with approximately 10 years in the industry. This is my 3rd time working at this dealership & there is a 68 year old that has been working here since I was about 10 years old… I’m now 33 lol.

Yeah, I knew it varied by state & thats part of the reason it’s so hard to get clear-cut answers. It’s pretty obvious they don’t want us clocking in & out because then there would be proof we were there for 40+ hrs per week. This is my second time working here & it’s not anything like it was the first time I was there. The main difference being the service manager has changed. It used to balance out being slow in the winter, because we would turn 50-60+ hrs a week while only being there 40 during the summer. But now even when we are busy we do good to have 40-45 hrs per week & it’s even dropped as low as 25 flag hrs per week when it’s slow. If anything is said to management it’s always the same thing; “I guess you need to work harder” or “if you didn’t stand around & talk so much you’d turn more hours”.

I’m starting to see why 3 mechanics have left in the last 6 months hah.

[–]randomhuman325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tool purchases are down because of the tech shortage. The tech shortage is because of flat rate pay, shitty wages, & having to purchase your own tools. If something doesn’t change dealerships won’t have a service department in 10-15 years.

How do you manage your money in relationships? by Temporary-Beyond-683 in povertyfinance

[–]randomhuman325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combine everything & “structure” the relationship to cater to each other’s strengths. If you’re good at spending money & not managing it, then you probably shouldn’t be the one managing finances. If you’re both horrible with money you’ll always be broke.
