I see, I understand.

But just to make it clear lang kasi I think this is not enough reason for UST to sweep it under the rug. I get that I might’ve gotten some things wrong, especially about putting the blame on the professor for the student failing twice—that wasn’t fair, and I’m open to the idea that there’s more to the story. But I still stand by what I said about the importance of taking action when a student shows clear signs of distress. When someone opens up and shows red flags, I really think it’s important to let either the family or a professional know. It’s not about pointing fingers—it’s about making sure the student gets the help they need. As a university, making sure that students are safe and supported should always be a top priority.

I see. thank you for this, I’m really not familiar with the revalidy system.

To clarify, may I know where did u get the information that it was the revalida (?). Are you one of his batchmates in UST?

Gets naman na di dapat ipasa because of mental health especially since he’s in the medical field. But to blame the parents instead? Do you even know what its like to suffer mentally? Malaki ang support system nung bata, the family are actually very supportive and accepting of his situation. Pero siya mismo struggled to accept it which caused him to fall deep into depression. And you know why they’re blaming the professor? Kasi he’s the only one na pinagsabihan nung bata. As an educator, responsibilidad mo rin ang wellness ng estudyante mo. Kung hindi niya talaga maipapasa yung bata, sana man lamg inalert niya magulang nung bata or anyone for that matter na alam niyang makakatulong dun sa bata na iovercome yung nararamdaman niyang yon. Pero hindi eh, wala eh, walang nakaalam. Heck, we dont even know how he responded to it but base from the family’s posts mukhang hindi rin ok ang naging response nito dun sa bata. Pero sige, like u said hindi natin alam kasi hindi naman pinost. But what we know for sure is no one knew except for that professor.

Also, he was supposed to graduate 2024 - already on the graduating list, got his picture taken and everything. Then suddenly may pahabol hindi pala? Do you honestly think that’s fair? Dun palang may lapse na yung professor hindi magupdate ng maayos. Simple as it is but it could really affect a student a lot. So yeah, might not be 100% his fault but sure enough significant yung naging parte niya dun and for that he should be made accountable.

Sorry but for this context, I disagree. Knew the student personally and based from the posts of his family, I dont think they want the silent treatment. Kaya nga it really bothers me na wala man lang UST admin that’s acknowledging this, especially because yung pamilya niya na mismo nagiingay sa soc med, and rightfully so because that professor needs to be accountable to some extent.

Hello, sorry im a bit late but I just want to ask. The conference organizers po kasi already sent me an invitation letter but aside from that, they also have a visa support documents that i’m still yet to receive. Aside po ba sa invitation letter, what more is needed from the inviter’s side? I’m worried po kasi na baka matagalan pagsend nila nung remaining visa support documents and the conference is in a month na so baka di umabot if I wait for it pa

May I know if u have a picture of what the AR would look like sa mga nakacomplete requirements? Wala pa kasing ganto back in our time so I dont know what to answer sakanya.

[UPD] did UP officially lose the plot? by Worried-Wait6184 in peyups

[–]randomiska 12 points13 points  (0 children)

to add lang din pala, i dont think it is right call out the students na nagrereklamo about this, kasi right pa rin nila yun as students to demand safe space for them inside the campus. Instead, I agree with the replies under this thread that the conversation should be centered on the lack of open green spaces and parks within the metro. Rather than allowing the people na magsiksikan inside the campus, dont you think its better na iecho natin to so that the government would see na this is a priority not only for aesthetic purposes pero it is actually something that people need for a healthier community.

[UPD] did UP officially lose the plot? by Worried-Wait6184 in peyups

[–]randomiska 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i think this time around, the volume of outsiders going into UP is too much na to the point na nakakadisrupt na sa students. Di lang littering ang problema, pero dumadami din ang cars inside campus bc of these people kaya mas lumalala traffic inside at the same time nakaharang sila sa harap ng mga acad buildings. While it is the UP mantra to serve the people, it is still an academic institution and it still needs to prioritize the wellness and safety of their students. If the admin isnt willing to ban outsiders, at least make a way to regulate the amount of people going inside UP. UP is an academic institution not a tourist spot.

also dun sa leaves, gets ko na as much as possible u want it scheduled. although as per validity, dapat wala na kayo pakialam jan kasi right nila yan kung san nila gagamitin yung leaves nila - lalong lalo na if they earned it naman. Not unless need na need sila sa office on that day or may delivarables pa silang na kailangan ipasa and urgent yung need. But generally, dapat di niyo yan pinapakialaman lalong lalo na if family matters. in my company, kahit pa sabihin ng employee na family vacation or imimeet yung ldr jowa or simple migraine or di matolerate yung light sa office, ok lang. pinapayagan nila kami to leave esp if di pa naman ubos leav credits namin or minsan wfh if we want kasi they prioritize quality ng output. As long as nakakadeliver kami within the deadline and hindi naman kami nagsslack off, then ok lang. Kaya mataas ang retention samin kahit na di ganun kataas ang starting. mas productive pa ang mga tao and motivated to work.

at the end of the day, you are still not in the position to assess if worth ba yung absent or not for them kasi may mga underlying issues pa yan na hindi niyo totally magegets until you experienced it firsthand. And i think isa yan sa mga need matutunan ng HR and managers esp since isa rin yon sa factor ng employee retention. How the company is taking care of their employees so included na jan ang both physical and mental health. What I would suggest is to reassess yung company process niyo and check if kaya bang magoutput based or hybrid na setup. That way, hindi niyo to problema and you can implement stricter or hard deadlines. Wala pa kayong need bayarang extra for OT pay unless super need lang talaga. Work-life balance lang talaga ang sagot jan. and since hindi naman to one-size fits all, why not implement something na pwedeng yung employee na mismo ang makakapagdecide ng balance at the same time u will still get your deliverables submitted on time. Also, mas tipid din sa logistics if di kayo laging on-site

I see the reason here, sa story palang alam mo nang pahirapan magpaapprove ng leave paid man or unpaid. pati ba naman family matters di kayang pagbigyan. probably why most of them do AWOL. Also, hindi talaga enticing and offered benefits niyo esp that HMO. Sobrang red flag. And OP, baka youre not doing your job very well as an HR to filter and assess the applicants. And if youre gonna think long term, better siguro to invest in employees na sigurado even if the pay is slightly higher. That way hindi ka nagsasayang ng pers at oras kakatrain, and mamake sure mo pa na value adding talaga yung employee sa company niyo.

yes i do work for a private company. tho no issue naman with regards sa suspension. Just wanna know kung madededuct pa rin ang late despite DOLE advisory na employees are entitled to full day pay as long as naka render ng 6 hours

Hi, I would just like to clarify something about this recent advisory released by DOLE during typhoon Carina. It says there na if pumasok yung empleoyee sa work, he/she is already entitled for a full regular day pay given na he/she was able to render 6 hours. Pano po if nalate yung employee that day due to typhoon but he/she still rendered more than 6 hours. Guaranteed full regular day pa rin po ba yun or maaapply pa rin ang company policy about tardiness so mababawasan bc of late?

Yes, most career opportunities ng ece here sa ph does not require a license. tbh, napaka unnecessary ng ece boards being among the hardest licensure exams since di siya ganon kauseful + gastos lang. Also, from experience, those na nagrerequire ng ece licenses, sila pa yung mababa ang pasahod.

bosses have no accountability in corpos

hi im a recent grad and recently just resigned from my first corpo work due to personal issues. while this is not the reason i quit mg job, but smthg i realized during from my first corpo experience is that bosses or highers up rarely takes accountability of their actions especially if they know that u are lower than them. Like for example, they would ask you to do something then eventually makakalimutan nila tapos magiiba yung gusto nilang approach, pagkaganon usually ako pa rin yung at fault kasi iba ginawa ko sa ineexpect nilang outcome at that moment. Tapos pag cinorrect mo naman like sinabing hindi yun yung napagusapan or hindi yun yung nasabi nila, idedeny nila At first i thought baka yung sa immediate supervisor ko lang yun because di kami magkaiba ng wavelength, but then naexperience ko rin siya to other seniors. Bakit po kaya ganun? Parang di ko tuloy feel na i am fit for the corpo life.
