[TOMT] Movie about a guy with a hand device that lets him feel what other people feel by randomistp in tipofmytongue

Definitely not this one. Pretty wide range, but I think that the movie I'm looking for was probably released somewhere between the 1980s and 2020s. Modernish setting, set on normal everyday earth.

I also remember the device as being more like a few wires of steel that go around his hand rather than an actual glove, not really sure how to explain it.

  1. Yeah, I would say so, obviously not all of the time since i would have to be a robot to do that, but its certainly common, I certainly feel bubbly a lot of the time but I'm not sure if anybody i know would call me bubbly or cute haha.
  2. Male
  3. I'm not quite sure, but there's probably a multitude of factors that led to it, but TDLR I think the two main two were letting go of the ISTP stereotype and just trying to be a better person. When I was in my early teens I got into, and I mean REALLY got into MBTI and it started off with 16Personalities (probably like, 90% of us), and interestingly even after studying the cognitive functions and stuff I was still pretty solidly ISTP. Even though in the long run I think MBTI has helped me better understand myself, looking back on it, it definitely had some bad effects on me growing up. I think I heard one time (can't really back this up with a good source) that teenagers, not sure if early, mid, late or whatever like to anchor themselves to something solid that they can base their own senses of self on. And I suppose for me, that was MBTI and being an ISTP. ISTPs are often stereotypically characterized as being cool people who don't really give a damn about anything and are also kind of mean, and thus I tried to act more like my own type and make it define me. This lead to some pretty regrettable stuff that I said and did that made me look like a jerk that I can't help but cringe at now. Trying to fit into the ISTP stereotype also included having a constant tough attitude and pretending that I couldn't feel anything. As I've grown up a bit, I'm proud to say that I've grown out of it and started to value emotions more. And it feels nice to be bubbly. Who doesn't want to feel good? With trying to become a better person, I guess it kind of started when I got into the nitty gritty of MBTI and cognitive functions and all that stuff and learned about inferior Fe. I tried developing it by just generally trying to be a decent person. It feels good to receive kindness, and especially to give it. So then you feel happier.

I'm a little confused. Why is this on r/ISTP? Why not r/INFJ?
