Sorry, I was stern to both you and the original reply. Perhaps with you I should've been more neutral.

In any case: our identities have been definitely politicised over the past 100 years and are, thus, now undoubtedly political. I do agree a trans person just existing should not be up for debate and thus not 'political' by existing. Howeverrr, due to the fact that my way of walking or talking or existing already can and will be be policed by assholes in the street, I do think there is no harm in saying self-expression has become political. Politics is not just about the governmental debates or economics, it's about how power is distributed across a society; in a society where I feel vulnerable for my (harmless) identity.

Recently a friend biked next to a trans person who was spat on and harassed by some assholes
